Stopping the pill

Hey! So I'm relatively new here and just thought I'd ask a few opinions!

Myself and my other half have been together 4 years.. we have a mortgage we are settled! I have a step son (my partners son) & he is 8. Myself and my partner have spoken about me coming off birth control eventually so we can ttc which is very exciting! When speaking about it a week or so ago, I mentioned perhaps me just taking the rest of the pills I have (before I'd need a pill check) which would take me to mid June. My other half is not someone who likes to plan, he prefers things to just happen! He said he would rather I just go ahead and stop the pill without him knowing as such and just let it happen. I know that has almost given me the go ahead but I kind of feel weird about doing that..? What does everyone else think? I almost think I should get to that point and then say to him 'I've come off birth control by the way' lol I don't know...

@Em0203 my husband was exactly the same when we spoke about it because he “didn’t want added pressure” he still ended up knowing when I wasn’t taking it anymore because it would have felt weird for me not telling him! (Plus he’d have been suspicious about me doing the pestering 😂). I hope everything goes well for you when you do decide to come off the pill!

Thank you so much for your reply!!!! My partner is the exact same! He said if it just happened, he'd be over the moon but if it's full on planned and he knows it's happening it's added pressure and he overthinks and freaks out haha! Perhaps I will just take what I have left and see what happens then! 😬Xxx

No problem ☺️, it’s difficult to know what’s for the best! I’m glad he knew because we’ve been trying for 6 months now and if I hadn’t been able to talk to him about it then I think I’d have gone a little crazy by now! Hopefully you won’t be trying for long before it happens! Which pill are you on? Xx

I’m sorry @wames90 I have only just seen your reply. I am on cilest. I have one month left of the pill!!!! I’m so tempted to stop it before my holiday but I don’t want to run the risk of random bleeding during my holiday.. so I just have to be patient! Hope things are going well for you? X
