Hi,
Was wondering if anyone has been through this? I came off the pill in October, had my withdrawal bleed but nothing since.
Currently on cycle day 158 and going a bit crazy!
My GP prescribed me Provera a few months ago but it didn’t work.
Any advice, similar experiences would be appreciated!

Hey I had the same thing but did respond to Provera. Have you had any blood tests? If you have low oestrogen then you could have hypothalamic amenorhhea which is what I was diagnosed with or a PCOS (which I was also diagnosed with incorrectly due to cysts on my ovaries). Unfortunately the pill can mask underlying issues. Xx

I came off the pill in June (ttc dc1), had a period in December but that's it (no withdrawal bleed when I first came off)

Hormones all normal apparently. Went private for a scan and was told my ovaries look fine so we currently have no explanation.

It's horrible Sad

Ah thanks both!
Yes I had blood tests done and all came back normal, which is good, but also frustrating that there isn’t an obvious reason.
I was always a bit irregular as a teenager, but not this extreme!
MinnieMigraine I hope you get an answer soon!
Our GP is going to refer us to the fertility clinic to try and find more answers, which is a bit scary but will see what happens!

You've totally hit the nail on the head there. When we came out of the hospital we were walking to the car and I said to DH "as nice as it is to be told I've got lovely ovaries, if they'd found something they might be able to treat it. What now?"

Obviously it could be much, much worse but it's horrible having no answers especially after we spent all that money on a private referral

Good that your bloods were normal but I understand the frustration. I'm very sick of being fobbed off with "these things just take time"

I know that it's really annoying when docs tell you to wait and it will come back eventually but I went through a similar experience.

I stopped taking the pill in May 2017 after taking it for 12 years and didn't get a proper period until January 2018! But then fell pregnant straight away in February and I'm now 11 weeks so please have hope!

In those 7-8 months I visited the GP several times, I had blood tests which all came back normal and I was prescribed a 3 month course of Provera. The first month on Provera I had a 'period', the second month spotting and the third month nothing. It's really frustrating and it did make me pretty anxious at times but try and stick it out a little longer. I was advised to wait till March and then my GP would refer me to a gynaecologist - it would have been 9 months without a period by then.

This is me too. 31yo, TTC #1. Came off October 2017 after 13 years continuously on Levlen ED, withdrawal bleed then nothing. Ultrasound showed endometrial thickening which was removed by D&C at the beginning of this month. Bloods not consistent with PCOS. Follow up with gynae beginning of next month. Tried metformin when GP thought it was PCOS before gynae opinion (who says you can’t tell yet) - had to stop after 3 days due to unbearable nausea and upset stomach. Am told letrozole or clomid are my next options. Feeling pretty down about it all. Had to wait until now to start TTC due to husband working away from home and my mental health not being stable enough. Not sure how stable it’ll stay with how it’s going!
