Hi, so I’m new to all this mum stuff but here goes...I decided to come off my pill (POP) late December. Me and my partner have been TTC since. I had a period around 2 weeks ago. But over the past couple of days I have been getting stomach cramps and am feeling super horny so is it possible that I could be in the very early stages of pregnancy without even knowing it yet?

Yes it is possible, but I wouldn’t think so because of your symptoms.
Sounds like ovulation symptoms to me so I’d be jumping on him at every chance

Oh I am! It’s just so frustrating when we both want To conceive so much and it seems to be taking forever to happen...I’m scared I won’t be able to get pregnant

Sounds like ovulation cramps :) You should use fertility apps to track and understand your cycle if you aren't already.

You have only been trying for two months... In general it can take up to a year to conceive. All the best and good luck to you!

"taking forever to happen"..

And you are on your 2nd month of trying?!

This is potentially going to sound harsh, but please spare a thought for the women on these boards who have spent years and years trying to conceive. This post is not very sensitive to them.

If you had a period 2 weeks ago, I do not think you are pregnant.

Never meant for it to sound insensitive to anyone, just meant that i’m Pretty impatient, especially when, like I said, it’s something we both really want it to happen Confused also, I’m pretty new to this so just posted for advice that’s all Smile

I don’t think you sound insensitive, maybe just a bit impatient (very)
If you think of ttc like only 3 possible days of getting pregnant in a month (usually 2 weeks after your period) being in your second month of trying is very hopeful.
On average... 1 year

Thank you for the advice, like I said I’m pretty new to it all and don’t really have anyone to ask about this kinda stuff so anything is helpful Smile

To me I guess it's the phrase "taking forever to happen" (on month 2) seems different to pretty impatient. I think inpatient is normal!

Anyway, I hope you get the result you want quickly. Best of luck.

Definitely start tracking your cycle, noticing your ovulation symptoms will be a great help, I didn’t notice mine until I had been trying for 7-8 months.
Take folic acid now

Firstly, just chill. Most women don’t conceive within the first 3 months. And it can take up to 12 months to conceive (if you have no other issues) when you come off birth control. Two months is nothing at all. No point in worrying that you won’t be able to get pregnant when you’ve barely even started trying, stressing won’t help anything.

Secondly, what you’re experiencing is ovulation. The cramps and the heightened libido are symptoms of ovulating. You have a window of up to 5 days in any given month to get pregnant, if you have a regular cycle of 28 days, this will be the days leading up to the 14th day of your cycle I.E. two weeks after your period. My advice would be to figure out your cycles and your fertile week and try using opks to figure out when you ovulate. And remember, a perfectly healthy couple can take up to 12 months to conceive, every month (again, healthy couples with no fertility issues) you only have a 20-25% of conceiving. Stop worrying. There are ladies here who have been trying for years and years, two months is honestly not a big deal and the likeliness is, you’ll get pregnant within a year. Good luck.

I find it offensive. You don't think my dh and I want it to happen just as badly??? For the last two years of ttc?? And the year before that until dh finally gave the green light??

It's ok. I'm sure after a few months I thought it felt like forever too... but to survive ttc: lower your expectations.

The likelihood is that it will take about 6 months, but it only takes one!! So good luck. 😉

Thank you @wetwashing00 I’m finding it really difficult to recognise when I ovulate at the moment so was thinking of possibly getting some ovulation tests? And tracking my basal body temp. Me and my partner are both on pre-conception vitamins that mine contain folic acid. And @physicskate yes, I do realise that everyone wants it to happen and quickly, didn’t mean for anyone to be offended by it, just in quite impatient and new to it all so not sure how long it’ll take. But thanks Smile

Hi, I'm in my 3rd week off pill. Been having aching legs, cramps, nausea, sore nipples and more discharge than normal. Wondering if I'm pregnant as googling say's these are all early pregnancy signs. Or are these pill withdrawel signs? I think I ovulated last week when I had cramps, egg white discharge and higher sex drive. Not sure if I am reading it all right or reading too much into it.

Pancakes - unfortunately it could be either!! Only a test will tell you...

Yeah it's too early to test atm. Going to wait till 3rd March then its been 4 weeks and if no af hopefully I'll get a bfp. I need to try and focus on other things. I'm think about it constantly. Going to go crazy.

If you're pregnant enough for symptoms, you're pregnant enough for a positive test.

And yes, I've been where you are for the last two years...

pancakes honestly, you shouldn’t get too worked up about “symptoms”. You haven’t even been ttc for a month yet. All of what you described are completely normal symptoms when coming off hormonal birth control. You could have a long road ahead of you (but hopefully not) so don’t overthink symptoms, it’s pointless and only stresses you out

You sound in the same boat as me. Literally!! Although I’m a week ahead- feel super positive that I’m pregnant but got to wait a few more days to test. I used ovia to see when my fertility window was and suspected ovulation day. Opk confirmed ovulation.

Has this been all you can think about since coming off the pill? Do you google everything? 😂

Pancakes7 · 21/02/2018 07:49

Yeah I think I just want to be pregnant now. We've been planning to try for so long. I just need to be patient and chill. Yes I google everything! I was convinced I was pregnant but symptoms have faded today apart from sore nipples still. Fingers crossed for us both!

Nicole, your post was not offensive, don't let people make you feel bad because of their feelings due to their own misfortune or lack of luck. You have as much right here as everyone else to express your hopes/fears/expectations regardless of where you are in your ttc journey. Some ladies here seem to have let their own experiences turn them a bit bitter.

In the 2 years since I've been ttc I've had 2 miscarriages, 1 chemical pregnancy, and had to terminate a baby at 15 weeks last November due to patau's. I found your green lack of patience and enthusiasm charming :) it made me smile :). Best of luck x (and to echo others, reckon Deffo ovulation symptoms. Jump on him next month when it happens again :))
