Can anyone see a line?

Hi all,
TTC number 2 for 8 months or so, chemical pregnancy 2 months ago. I have PCOS and an average cycle length of 34 days which varies wildly!

AF is due tomorrow according to my app, ovulation was 10 days ago.

Yesterday I was tearful, achy boobs, nauseous... I found a test in my bag this morning so thought I'd take it. We thought we'd missed the window this month as I ovulated later than expected and we were away!

Can anyone see the 2nd line? I don't want to get my hopes up so affirmation or gentle let-downs both welcome! I have no pee left to take another but do have a stash of internet cheapies ready for later. I'm sure many of you know what I'm going through right now!

Hope the photos are good enough...

I can see a faint line on the second picture. Fingers all crossed for you Smile

Noof · 17/01/2018 09:45

Looking at the photos, I now can't see it!

Also the formatting seems to have gone a bit skewiff up there so I hope the post makes sense to you!

I definitely see a faint line in the second and third pictures. Fingers crossed for you! Smile

ChobiChibi · 17/01/2018 16:57

I do see lines on all of them, but there has been some really nasty indents on blue dye tests. Maybe go grab a pink dye test or a First Response? I reaaally hope this is your BFP though! Baby dust Flowers

Thanks for the warning, that really sucks, I'll try to keep my hopes down a bit. I'm trying to hold out for a few more days before spending actual money on a new test!!

I know, I shouldn't preach to other people because I am a pee-on-a-stick-aholic! Grin Good luck with everything, though! Flowers

PenelopePickle · 17/01/2018 18:04

I can see it! (Is it a Tesco test?)

I had a very similar line with this pregnancy on the same test and it came up much clearer with a FRER the same day.

Good luck OP Flowers

Rumpledfaceskin · 17/01/2018 18:07

I see it. I’ve literally had the exact same experience today with mine. Have been assured by friends that it’s there. It bloody should be I’m 2 weeks after period due feeling sick with sore boobs. Good luck OP!

mamabear05 · 17/01/2018 18:08

Aww hunni so sorry to hear about your chemical. Yes it looks like a really faint line but as a previous poster has mentioned I've heard some mixed reviews re the blue dye tests. Well worth investing in a frer. Good luck, hope it's positive news! X

Noof · 17/01/2018 18:13

It is a Tesco, I forgot I had it! Just thought "what's the harm in trying?" Well, THIS is the harm - constantly squinting at photos 😂 think I have a pink dye upstairs but don't want to waste it. Money is quite right. With my odd cycles, AF could come tomorrow or Friday so I'm thinking if nothing by Saturday I might use my 1 digital to avoid all doubt... if I can stay that strong!

It's nice to have this support - this is my 1st time not just keeping my crazy thoughts to myself!

New to this. What’s the situation re. Blue dye and red dye?

ChobiChibi · 17/01/2018 18:17

Another heads up, digitals aren't always amazing either. Only because everyone's HCG levels rise at different rates. For those women who have quick high rises (which is great) in early pregnancy then the digital test will detect it, but if you're someone whose HCG rises slowly (which is also fine!) then the digital may still come back as negative. I love TTC forums, they really divert my frantic peeing on a stick obsession in my TWW! Flowers

ChobiChibi · 17/01/2018 18:19

@Rumpledfaceskin , it's just that blue dye tends to give really bad indents/evaporation lines in early pregnancy, whereas there are less shown on pink/purple dye tests. So if in doubt, just try a pink dye Smile

twobambinos · 17/01/2018 18:34

Noof I think I see a line. Def keep the digital until you get a good strong line. They are not sensitive at all.
I don't think there's any doubting lines on frer if you do decide to get another. Best of luck

twotired · 17/01/2018 19:00

I can see a line in the second pic. Hope it's not an evap and wishing you the best of luck x

Noof · 17/01/2018 19:10

That's so annoying, I'll definitely keep the digital for later then!

I do see a faint line, but I don't trust those at all now after I had a false positive on one a couple of months back (hence user name!) and it was actually a bit darker than yours. Blue dyes are notoriously bad for that.
Test with your pink dye test in the morning and hopefully you get the result you want Flowers

Noof · 17/01/2018 20:10

I never knew that, I always thought you couldn't get a false positive! Thank you for the warning, that must be devastating, I'll hunt out my pink dye and see what that says...

Help me please sorry to jump on here,,, I took two CB today and after 1 hour they both turned positive this is the 5th one I have done and they have all done the same! Please help!

Rumpledfaceskin · 17/01/2018 21:11

Noof I didn’t know you could get a false positive either! Jobjob don’t quite understand. Do you mean they were neg then turned positive after a hour. That would be very weird.

Jobjob2018 · 17/01/2018 21:17

Yes but very blue lines not colour less,, they are 100% positive I don’t know how to upload photos Confused

I see it in the second pic Smile

Noof · 17/01/2018 22:43

Jobjob my understanding is that you have to check them within the timeframe given in the instructions (usually 5 minutes) and after that any change in test is an evaporation line and not a true positive. But I could be wrong as I have already learnt things today that I didn't know!

OP posts:
ChobiChibi · 18/01/2018 09:06

Yes. Each brand of HPTs has a timeframe that if you read it either before or after you will get a false reading. Most HPTs, if you leave them way over their timeframe, will look positive. But that is because of the evaporation line. Hope that helps?
