I’m ttc my second, and I’m not at all ungreatful for my first at all. We would just like to have another - I’m sorry if that seems selfish to those who have been trying for a while.
But I’m feeling a bit sh** and I just need someone to point me in the right direction.

So in jan this year I came off the pill, had bloods last month to check hormone levels as I hadn’t fallen pregnant and they were all “fine” was suppose to have had my 21 day bloods yesterday but my doctor booked me in for the test 7 days after my period not 7 days before.
I’m suppose to be ovulating on Friday but my partner has had to go away and I’m hoping he’s back tomorrow but I’m unsure as a family memeber is unwell.
I brought opk but they were the treat and ease brand and wasn’t that expensive... I’m getting a faint line but nothing darker.
With my first it was easy I had the time to dtd every day but now we just don’t have the time or energy and I know that’s absolutely awful to say as we do actually have brilliant dtd when we actually get around to it! Ideally we should of today but we obvisly can’t I’m hoping tomorrow but can anyone shed some light as to if I’m doing something wrong or am I ovulation late or not at all...... ahhhhhhh

Unless the test line is as dark as the control line then you haven't got your LH surge, so not ovulating right now. Tbf, from what I understand, you ovulate 12 -36 hours after LH surge anyway.

No matter what position you are in, or how many kids you already have, TTC is stressful and more than enough to make anyone feel low! It is even harder if you are worrying on your own and if OH is away with an ill family member then that can be stressful too.

So sorry you feel rubbish, but the ladies on here are all fabulous and willing to support each other through a hard time.

My prescribed treatment would be, ideally, chocolate and a good glass of wine.

Hope you're feeling better soon :)

Thank you so much. Both of you.
I had the results back from my day 21 results obviously they were negative as we done them 7 days after not before.
She suggested sperm meets the egg, has anyone tried this??
I also just ordered the onestep ovulation sticks with 20ULH... hopefully they come tomorrow.
Does anyone with a 25 day cycle know roughly which day they ovulate I know it’s a personal thing, but I’m hoping that the app has it wrong and that I just ovulate later than they are predicting.
I’m just really down in the dumps about it, I know people say oh when your least expecting it will happen but we tried that from January till August....

@cupcakesandlove I have a 27 days cycle usually and I ovulate on day 17. I know this from my temp rise and I have about four days of ewcm around ovulation too. I did try using opks before but they stressed me out because I didn't do them at the correct times, etc, so I gave up. If you have signs of ovulation such as ewcm and cramping, you could try going by that instead of opks. Or you could try temping.

Don't forget, though, that having sex every two days (when possible!) Is probably the best way to do it. Good luck.

Sorry, just noticed you don't always have time for regular sex. In that case, perhaps try using other things apart from opks to help pinpoint ov

When you say correct times, When is the best time to test?

Report
Cupcakesandlove · 26/10/2017 16:32

We would usually have the time, just a family member is ill so we won’t be together much if at all over ovulation this month! I could scream!!!!
They say it’s better to do the opk in the early afternoon don’t they? So around 12-2

Yeah, early afternoon but it's best to not have been to wee for at least 4 hours before doing it.

Ahh!! Thank you. Will bear that in mind for when I next test

We are ttc number two. Well, my second, partner’s first. I got pregnant with my 9 year old when I was still on the pill. 12 months after having my implant removed and not a hint of a pregnancy. My bloods came back fine, partner has just given in his sample yesterday. I totally get your frustration! My partner works nights and often does overtime so can be leaving for work at 5.15 most days and I don’t get home from work until 2.30 and he sleeps until about 3, then we have to pick my daughter up from school and once she’s home there’s no privacy. It’s very difficult! Last cycle, I told her she had to wait downstairs while we went up to sort one of her Christmas presents so she couldn’t come upstairs haha

I have a 28 day cycle so normally ov around day 14 although last cycle I ov’d on day 20 and this cycle on day 12. I rely a lot on opk’s as otherwise I would miss my surge because I don’t bbt (sleeping pattern is too rubbish) I find them great but they don’t work for everyone. Oh and I always do my opk’s after work (late afternoon) and also late evening until I get my surge. Good luck!!

I Just tested again and nothing. Fertility friend app suggests ovulation tomorrow... what do you think the likelihood is?
If I ovulate later in my cycle am I still able to get pregnant even if its cd 21 out of 25?

I recommend clear blue dual hormone indicator opk... Internet cheapies never caught my surge. Cb has alwayd seemed to work for me. I ov around day 9-11 in a 30d cycle... So pretty soon after my period. It's expensive but so worth it in my experience. Good luck xx

I got the cheap ones off line and done them today and still no line

Either I’m not ovulating at all, or I’ve missed it completely orrrrrr it’s too soon I think tomorrow I need to bite the bullet and get the clear blue

The clear blue sounds like a better idea. If you cycles are only 25 days long, then ovulation should ideally be on cd10-12. Up to cd14-15 might be ok but will make it a lot more difficult to get pregnant.

HI I’ve just taken another’s OPK it’s slightly darker then the one I took a few days ago, still negative mind.
My question is do they get darker? As you approach ov... or is that not the case and it’s either positive or negative

Hi I’m not sure if it does on all brands, but these ones say in the instructions to leave urine for 20 min to get to room temp then to dip for min of 7 secs then go wait 10 min but a positive may come up within a min
