Anyone else have periods like this?

My periods are, and always have been super regular. They used to be super heavy and painful until I went on the pill at 17 to help. I can’t really remember when they changed to how they are now but for as long as I have been ttc and therefore laying more attention, I’ve noticed they seem weird. They’re still very regular. I will have brown spotting the night before af is due. I will then have about 8-10 hours max of red bleeding (medium flow, I’ll use about 3 tampons although won’t fill them) and then for the rest of the day and for about 2-3 maybe 4 days later, all I’ll have is brown bleeding or brown spotting. I know brown blood is old blood but is it normal to have such little red flow and so much brown?

I do. I fact before I got my copper coil (no hormones) out it was only brown!

Me too. Usually one day of bleeding and the rest just spotting. I can still have a bit of spotting until day 10. Seems it takes a while for the old blood to leave my system, but I don't have that much of it to begin with (and I've been pregnant before so it hasn't stopped pregnancy).

I can’t remember whether it started after I had my daughter 9 years ago or after I came off the implant in December but in the past, I used to have a good amount of red bleeding so I’m worrying it might be a sign of rubbish lining or something. When I have the red bleeding I more often than not get small clots being passed as well (not really clots, more like chunks of lining. Sorry for tmi!) which has always happened since starting my periods. I can’t find anything online regarding brown blood before a period. Is there any reason for having so much old blood and not a lot of red or is it just one of those things?
