Conception

So confused and a bit worried

About 2.5 weeks ago we had a condom break on us. Stopped immediately and for various reasons didn't get the MAP (already had to take it this year - same packet Hmm - already had invasive stuff in between then and now to do with a positive smear test and subsequent infection and it was 9 days after the start of my last period in a 28 day cycle). I just couldn't face yet more messing about with my reproductive system for such a small chance.

Last Friday I started feeling queasy and I've felt sick on and off every day since. I've also been feeling more tired than normal for a week, having naps when I can get away with it. Plus some back pain and light headedness.

I do usually get sick before my period but it's always been confined to a bit of dry heaving on one or two days immediately prior. My breasts also feel fine, no different.

My period is due Weds, Thurs or Friday so I took a Sainsbury's test this morning. BFN.

I don't really know why I'm posting. We'd said we probably would choose not to have children so we've already earmarked for a serious chat if it is positive. I just want something to explain (and get rid of!) the constant nausea.

I would have thought that if there aren't enough pregnancy hormones in your system to show up on a pregnancy test then there wouldn't be enough to make you feel sick. I've generally been around 6 weeks pregnant before symptoms have kicked in. If you had unprotected sex 2.5 weeks ago, it should be showing up on a pregnancy test by now.

Keep testing or waiting for AF to show up, but in my experience I would think it's unlikely you're pregnant.

Thanks. It might just be the period from hell then Grin I'm going to wait now. If it's not here by Saturday I'll do another test.

I think when you are aware there could be a chance - you notice things that perhaps you wouldn't have before!
We are TTC and I convince myself I'm having mild symptoms - when really I'm probably the same as I have always been!
Test again if AF doesnt arrive! Good luck for whatever outcome you want!
