So we are ttc #1. This will be cycle 10 which is tough. I have always been into nutrition & we eat really well. I've slowly reduced our meat consumption for ethical reasons mainly but also due to concerns for health about what goes into the animals producing meat.

Im after advice about whether now would be a bad time to go fully veggie. Ive done a lot of reading & it seems being veggie & ttc is a minefield due to vit b12 / soy products etc. Would i be better just staying a meat eater?

I've been veggie since I was 9 and have had no problems conceiving, for which I am very grateful. I've never heard of being veggie being a minefield for those ttc, sorry to be blunt but I laughed out loud when I read that

I've been a veggie for 24 years and it hasn't hindered my TTC (bfp cycle 1, currently 8 weeks)

The only issues so far have been low iron which I've been prescribed tablets for, it is harder to get iron from a vegetarian diet but not impossible!

Bit insensitive Boom she's on Cycle 10 of TTC and likely at the stage where you will try absolutely anything to improve her chances. You say you are grateful - well try putting yourself in the shoes of those that aren't lucky to be so amazingly fertile.

Willow I'm on Cycle10 too and know exactly how you feel, I'm not veggie but never heard of it being a hindrance to TTC - it is important not to compromise your principles to the cause - despite how desperate you may feel. Do you track your cycles? If so then you will soon know whether the change in diet is making a difference to your hormones levels and can make a decision accordingly.
I hope you get your BFP soon.

I was just trying to say that it's unlikely to be a factor in TTC, so hopefully one less thing to worry about.

Hope you get your BFPs soon, huge apologies for offendingBlush

No offence taken HbH

It was more the comment about laughing that pissed me off.

I'm sorry but the thought that being a vegetarian could affect ttc??? Not poor diet, gaps in nutrition but cutting out meat??
It did make me laugh because it's really not going to be the issue here and I'm sorry it's my opinion!! Don't ask on an Internet forum if you don't want opinions...

I wouldn't say I find any fertility issues funny
