Wtf is wrong with my cervix?

So my cervix is being weird and it's making me anxious.

Basically I have pretty regular 28 day cycles. Usually ov on cd15 and af shows up on cd28. I know cervical position isn't really a good indicator for anything other than telling you if you're in your fertile period or not but for the last few months, I've been checking it (with clean fingers, don't worry) it seemed to be doing what it was meant to. Going high during my fw, gradually dropping lower as af approached. So I know that it IS capable of dropping low. Low enough for me to barely even need to reach in to find it. However now it's being weird.

My periods are usually medium/light and last around 3-4 days. My last period showed up a day late and was super heavy (for me anyway) but the next day it had all but disappeared except for a tiny bit of pink when I wiped. Which I thought was odd as it had been so heavy the previous day but whatever. What I also found strange is that my cervix never dropped. In fact, it seemed to get higher and even when I was on my period, it was very high, almost unreachable.

Ever since then, it has stayed high and now gotten to the point where I can't even figure out where it is anymore. I'm now on cd15 but I think ovulated early as I've not had any dark lines on my opks although I've not been taking them religiously this cycle, I took one last night when I would usually get my darkest positive and there was nothing (or perhaps I didn't ov at all!)

I'm worried that it's going to affect my chances of conceiving. What would be the reason as to why it's stayed consistently very high, even during af?

Have you tested just in case? Your short heavy bleed could have been something pregnancy related rather than a period, your cervix is supposed to go high and remain high whilst pregnant

I've peed on a few internet cheapies (got a stash of one step test strips squirrelled away lol) but all bfn. I managed to just about reach it with the very tip of my finger just now and it feels rock hard. I'm worrying as obviously a fertile cervix is meant to be soft so I'm obviously not fertile despite "supposedly" being in my fertile week (or just finished if I ov'd early) I can't tell if it's open or closed as I can't reach up enough. I always check from the same position too...

I would get a FRER and test with that, at least if you get a negative with one of those you know you're (almost) definitely not. Accuracy of IC's seem to vary massively from person to person x

Your weird one-day period is pretty much exactly what I had when I had implantation bleeding in both my pregnancies... My cervix stayed low for ages though, so not sure about that.

Its worth getting a 'proper' pergnancy test though!

Sorry, also - IC tests showd negative for me even when a clearblue digital showed a positive.

Thanks, I'll maybe try that! If it is negative, is there any other reason why it might be staying so high?

If you're not pregnant and are on CD15 then it being high would be correct for this time of month. The fact that it didn't become low before your last bleed could just be an anomaly, after all it is an unreliable method for checking fertility. It can also depend on the time of day you check and your position. But I wouldn't really worry about it too much, sometimes our bodies just like to throw us a curveball!

Eh? My fertility specialist has never concerned herself where my cervix was. 10% of women have a wandering one anyway. Forget about it and do the opk's.
