I'm starting to get really down about this. Ttc number 2. First time was so quick and easy this time around it's impossible. I don't seem to get any ewcm. Don't temp don't have a clue how to! Bought internet cheap sticks they never got a second line. I've not bought a clear blue advanced fertility monitor it reads as lows then high but haven't got a peak. Is it all over for me? Am I not ovulating? Please help x

Hi,

Sorry you're feeling the way you are- it's a minefield isn't it?! How long have you been TTC? Have you spoken to your GP? Depending on how long you've been TTC and your age they might agree to do some tests for you which would reassure you as to whether you're ovulating.

I've never got on with temping but from what I've seen it seems to be a reliable way of tracking ovulation so perhaps worth a go.

What days of your cycle are you doing the ovulation tests? Could you be ovulating earlier or later in your cycle and therefore missing the surge?

I'm really no expert and someone more knowledgable will be along soon I'm sure but hopefully the above is a small help xx

I have recently started temping and tracking and doing opk sticks and it's amazing what you learn when you take notice of your body.

You can download a temperature chart just google 'bbt chart fertility'. Take your temp roughly same time every morning before you drink/talk/get out of bed. What you are looking for is a dip and then a rise scoundrel your mid cycle. Start doing it on first day of next period. As for the stiicks- I'd suggest doing it twice a day as it's easy to miss the surge. I don't seem to get ewcm but do get increased cm mid cycle .

Hope that helps a bit.... it is a little complicated but once you get the hang of it you start noticing your body signs more x

I'm nearly 26. Cycles are between 26-30 days. Staring testing using the monitor from day 6 like it asked me to and got highs on day11 and 12. Still using the cheap ones to. This is from tonight although I didn't really do the whole don't drink for 4 hours etc. Do you think ovulation will just be on its way?

What I found helpful was keeping my ones this month over last few days so I could compare and dating them....see attached photo ....

Don't worry - do it twice a day over next few days and keep them and date them

Let me tell you something:

I double ran the cheap OPKs and the Clearblue ovulation test.

Cheapies never showed a 2nd line.

Clearblue (digital with smiley faces) showed when I was in LH surge (flashing smiley) and actually ovulating (static smiley).

Today I got a BFP: it's early days as AF was due only yesterday but I credit the Clearblue digit with telling me when I was at peak.

FYI: lots of other posters who use Clearblue swear it takes a couple of cycles of testing for the monitor to get to know your wee. So some folk never get the static smiley for months. Doesn't strictly mean they aren't ovulating.

My stats:
Pg in June 2016
Mc August 2016 (10w)
Trying since late October 2016
BFP today.

I wish you the very best of luck. I have never cried so many tears as I have done this cycle but praying this one sticks.

Xx

Oh congrats and very good luck! That's made me feel a bit better about this little monitor sat next to my bed! I bought the advanced one so it cost £100 and I've been sat cursing the thing for not workin/helping xx
