Hello everyone! waves

New here, but have been lurking a while :)

Planning on starting TTC for DC1 in a couple of weeks, and I'm so so anxious.
I can't help thinking about all the stuff that can go wrong (ectopic, MCS, pregnancy related conditions...) but even if everything goes fine it still makes me anxious!

I'm deffo an overthinker and feel I already know way too much about the nitty gritty of pregnancy/birth, and wish I was more naive so I could enjoy the process more...Also, I 'm quite doctor phobic, hate hospitals, loathe being poked and prodded... Yeah.

I'm about to turn 32, and had a total thyroidectomy at 19, so really feel I need to crack on now...

So I don't really know what I'm asking... Maybe some reassurance. Were some of you ladies also very anxious and then had a nicer experience than anticipated?

Would really love any input, thanks Grin

Hi lovely,

I am TTC and have been since august but am without a period since coming off BC.. I guess the pill really messed with me. My anxiety is at an all time high right now because it's been a half of year with no period which makes me think I need one to conceive right? Please just try to relax and don't let anxiety get the best of you. You may conceive right away or you might not so try to relax ok hunny. I need to warn other about anxiety because mine is bad ❤

Hi bohemian I can sympathise, we are also trying for the first time. It's incredibly nerve-wracking. I thought it would be so straight forward but a year has passed and nothing has happened, so we've just been referred to the hospital. I'm scared about not ever conceiving and I'm really scared of conceiving and miscarrying Sad it's a lot of unknowns and hugely emotional gambles to take.

For me though, my desire to have a baby is stronger than this fear. I know it will be worth it. I think you have to try and take it one step at a time and not think too far ahead. Cross each bridge as it comes, and hopefully we will get there.

Hi ladies :)

@ElizabethCatherine Oh coming off BC can be so horrible, I'm sorry you're having to go through that now. My body def. needed a few months to get back to normal too.
Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, deep breaths ! :)
I downloaded a few free meditation apps on my phone which are quite handy when I feel in a panic! Maybe you could try that too if you haven't already :)

@LondonJam I totally understand the dual fear of not conceiving/conceiving but then something goes wrong.
I think you have a really good point with just taking things as they come, and not thinking too far ahead ( so difficult though as it's an event that influences your whole life!)
Good luck with your hospital referral.
Have you been temping/charting?
I ovulate very very early in my cycle (around D7) and would not really have known without temping , so that can always be an issue, you might be missing the window without knowing?

Anyway, I have my fingers crossed firmly for both of you. Maybe we can be anxiety buddies? Grin
