12 DPO test

hi i brought some first response tests today as me and my husband are trying for baby #2. we had a miscarriage in October but was very early stages. we had sex on ovulation day (so i thought) until i had the ovulation mucus the around 12 hours after intercourse. im due on tomorrow, so decided to test today as its 12 DPO. admittedly i forced a wee out that lasted about 7 seconds and it was at 2pm this afternoon. it came our negative and it has really disappointed me. i thought if it had worked this time then it would surely show up a day before my period... just wondering if anyone has experienced this and gone on to be pregnant or even still stayed negative. is it because i forces a wee out that wasnt first thing in the morning, is it because potentially im not even that far gone so it wont detect yet? can my miscarriage last month effect us and make it more difficult to conceive? feeling a little confused. thankyou everyone :)

It could be too early, FMU is usually needed to pick up clear results before your period is due. Even if you're not pregnant, it doesn't mean there was any reason, including the MC, it just didn't happen this month.

You could be pregnant but not enough hcg yet. With ds1 I tested with fmu the day af was due but it was a clear negative. You could have ovulated later.

Mrs G - possibly! im hoping its just cos its too early atm cos doesnt it take at least 6-12 days after conception for egg to attach. im also not well, ive got a terrible cold and a headache so maybe thats throwing things off.

Janipop - i hope so! im feeling unwell aswell atm. so dunno if that may throw things off.

I didn't get my bfp until I was 2 days late, I refused to test early incase of disappointment so found it easier to wait until I was late. If I were you I'd give it a couple more days then test again if no af

laura - didnt you! ive got 3 tests left so just gonna wait now like you say. due tomorrow so if i havent come on by 3 days late then i will.

I was due on Saturday 28th October and tested around 4pm Monday 31st and got a really strong positive straight away. I honestly couldn't handle the disappointment of testing early and potentially getting a negative, and ironically this was the first month were I didn't track a thing, or check when my fertile window would be....me and my bf actually only did it once that whole month because I was so stressed and drained with my job!! Honestly i would give it another couple of days and then test again

laura - no way! fair play to you. i refuse to test again atm cos if i concieved it would of been the 27th as that was the day/day before ovulation so still within a 24 hr period of post ovulation. which was only 13/14 days ago so. im suppose to be due on today, nothing yet touch wood! gonna leave it till 3/4 days late and go from there. im also baring in mind im rundown with a cold and my daughters got the norovirus so that could be messing with my body worrying about her which could be why i tested neg yesterday... so just gonna leave it for now see if MN turns up :)

tested today as got bellyache and feeling sick. but there is a bug going around so could be that. it came back neg. 2 days late :( dont think its worked this time and MN is gonna appear
