implant pregnancy?

posted about this a few times but not really had a great lot of advice.
me and my OH have been together for 13 months, and I've been on the implant for 11. I was having regular periods every month which stopped in June. I was spotting in August, which I thought was normal due to my implant. However, since August, I've gained two dress sizes, managed to gain some stretch marks (pictured), sore boobs, nausea (thankfully no sickness), constant back ache and a MASSIVE craving for cheese. I understand that these might be due to the implant but something just seems off with my body. I don't feel the same. I've been messed around with doctors too, as I struggle to get to my GP. I've been to a walk in centre, who robbed me off. So, I rang 111 and asked about any places that do blood tests. They booked me in for the same day, I turned up, and they fobbed me off also. My friend, who's pregnant, told me to go to Urgent Care and book in for one - so I went, and ended up getting fobbed off to my GP again.
I have had no positive tests, only negatives, but the GP stated I had high chances due to my period completely stopping from August.

Any advice girls? Slightly nervous Sad x

You poor thing! Get an ultrasound to be sure and be firm with the Drs about what you want and need to make sure you get it. Hope everything works out OK for you x

So have you got an appointment with your GP?

I tried to get an early scan - my friend said I'd either get a blood test or one of those, unfortunately I got neither. I'm going to try and get an appointment tomorrow, but it takes a while to get to my doctors as there are no buses and I don't drive. Bit of a nightmare.. I also have to book an appointment on the day and I go to college, so i'd have to skip some lessons to attend x

Is it an option to pay for a private scan?

Unfortunately not.. My boyfriend doesn't even know yet as I want to make sure before I tell him x

It was the cheese thing that resonated with me, when I was pregnant I could not stop eating it, but I didn't know I was pregnant. I get bad ibs so when my belly swelled I just thought "here we go again" and all I could think about was cheese! Just wanted to check you're ok, you've been trying so hard to get checked and you deserve answers. Just a thought if you've had no luck, have you got a gum clinic near you? Maybe worth a try, just hope you're ok, please let us have an update when you can.

I would go back to the gp and insist they use a doppler to listen for a heartbeat if your last period was in July you would be close to 20 weeks if pregnant so the gp should be able to hear it.

I think that for reassurance you need to request that the doctor examines your stomach to see if he can feel an enlarged uterus.

If the doctor can feel an enlarged uterus or swelling of any kind, then an ultrasound is required.

If you are not pregnant, then eating extra cheese could be piling on the pounds very fast causing the stretch marks and in which case you need to think about dieting as soon as possible.

Rapid weight gain or loss can affect your menstrual cycle, hence the missing periods. Or an ovarian cyst can also cause missed periods. Or it could just be the implant causing your periods to have stopped.

If you are pregnant then finding out as soon as possible is important for your peace of mind and the care of yourself and the baby.

Either scenario is possible.

With regards to pregnancy tests, as you get later in pregnancy it is possible to get the "hook" effect, where a HPT will show negative because the level of HCG is too high and it effectively overloads it.

The pregnancy tests that you are showing, look flooded, ie you left them in the urine too long.

My sister had a pregnancy where she never had a positive test, she was thought by the doctor to have an enlarged ovarian cyst, sent her for an ultrasound, only to find a 4 month pregnancy. So it is possible that you are pregnant.

However it is equally possible that you might not be pregnant, it sounds from your post that you would like to be, despite having the implant.

You need to see your GP first and get them to examine your stomach first and foremost, if they detect any enlargement/swelling then you can request a scan. Don't go in asking for a blood test or scan initially, as they will not do this just because you ask.

Hi ladies.
I'm going to go to the GUM clinic to get my implant taken out - when I first went with my suspicions they just told me they can't help me. Just to make sure just in case there is a baby. I've also booked a blood test for next week on Tuesday but whilst I am in the GUM clinic I will ask them to examine my stomach just to see their opinion. I went to the hospital and the urgent care doctor stated that it seems very likely that I would be pregnant but she wanted me to take another pregnancy test. Obviously if it comes back negative no other tests would be done so I refused and said I'd do another at home.

I love cheese anyway but these cravings are insane! And yes, if I was pregnant I'd love to have a baby. I was on the implant because I'm still young.. if it happens it happens
X

Why don't you try different pregnancy tests? Like clearblue or first response, I hear first response are quite accurate :)

I've used different ones and they've all came back the same x

don't really know how to make a new forum so thought I would jump in....

I've been feeling sick
Tired...to the point that I had to take a week off work to sleep. And earlier I went food shopping came home and fell asleep.
I've got sore beasts .
I've been super emotional...ANYTHING sets me off lol. I cried earlier because my mate couldn't meet me for a coffee haha
And about two weeks ago I had a few little spots of blood and nothing more.
I have definitely gained weight and in my eyes I shouldn't be, I go to the gym, eat clean and I've got a very round tum (not around the sides) and also when I lay down it's still there and when I lightly press on my tummy, from my belly button I can feel pressure where I push and there a hard bit. When I stand it also feels hard at the base
Everything right now is pointing to pregnancy and I "feel" pregnant.

I am on the implant, and have been for years and never had anything like this.

A doctor done a pregnancy test which was negative and just said "well it's rare to happen, the rest is negative so we will go with that"

Ive read stories about it happening, a lot more than I would of liked lol. I have done a few tests...all negative. I've spoke to one doctor and got the "oh that's rare to happen so doubt it's that" and that was it. I just don't know where to go from here and what to do!! Any advice would be great

If the pregnancy tests are negative it's very unlikely you're pregnant. You need to ask the doctor to investigate reasons why you could be getting similar symptoms. Unexplained weight gain could be due to a number of things, thyroid problems or PCOS could be likely.

How did you get on OP? The cheese thing is very strange. I am pregnant and my cravings are very fleeting. Once i've fulfilled them I usually can't look at that food again for a while, because it makes me feel sick. Of course everyone is different though.
