OK, so I don't know if this would be better off in general health, but we're going to start TTC soon and that's why I'm concerned about it.
I've always had very regular, quite heavy but short periods, pain level variable depending on month. At times when I've taken the pill it's been the same thing but lighter, but due to side effects I switched to an implant. I had this in for the full 3 years and it expired in April 2015, since then we've just used condoms. But about a year ago, I started having my normal period, but then what seems like another lighter one, usually exactly 7 days after the start of the first. Then the next one is 21 days after that. So I still have what seems like my usual 28 day cycle, but with periods in both day 1 and 7. Sometimes the cycle is a bit longer but I can't remember a month in the last year where I didn't have two periods! They seem separate to each other as I get white discharge in between.
I know I need to see a doctor, I'm totally fine with talking about medical issues with people, but I find it really really hard to talk to new people in person and on the phone (booking appointments) so I've been putting it off. I think I've finally worked up the courage to do it and found a doctors near my new house with an online booking system, so rest assured I will soon!
I'm just wondering, in the meantime, if this is something anyone's experienced, if anyone knows what it could be, and if so, whether it could affect my fertility. I wanted to NTNP from when we got married, DH wasn't quite ready yet (he has an optimistic view of how long it will take to conceive whereas I have a pessimistic one) so we've agreed to start trying at the end of December. Does anyone have any advice or experience that could help me? Sorry for rambling a bit but wanted to cover as much as possible that might get asked later. Thank you in advance.
