How long have you been ttc no2?

Been ttc no 2 for 10 months now. Am in early 30s and had no trouble with ds1.
Just wondered how long other people have been ttc for?

I had no trouble conceiving DS (straight away) and so thought No. 2 would be a doddle. How wrong I was. I've had 2 losses in the last 2.5 yrs of trying although that includes the time trying, being pregnant, recovering, etc. I just wished I'd tried sooner as I'm 41 now....

It seems very unfair. Have you had any tests done?

Took me 20 months with DS 1 and have now been TTC #2 for 12 months (excluding 6 months BFIng where we also didn't use contraception) so been off contraception a long time. I've had 2 MCs and 1CP in that time. I guess conception is just not something we do well Sad

I got pregnant with DD on cycle 1 so though TTC #2 would be just as easy. I did get pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately I had an early miscarriage and now here I am, 5 cycles later and no BFP.

This is interesting. DD1 was conceived in six weeks. I have been taking no contraceptives for 20 months now and nothing has happened. We've been too tired to really 'try' with any determined commitment, but I am also starting to wonder. OP - wish you all the best xxx

I got pregnant cycle 1 with DD and am now on cycle 6, got a BFP on cycle 5 but sadly had a mc at 6 weeks. Naively thought that no2 would be as easy as no1....turns out I was wrong! It's so hard not to let yourself get obsessed by ttcing!

Got pregnant with DS on cycle 2 of normal periods (coming off the pill and took ages to get a proper period) Now on cycle 5 and struggling with late ovulation and crappy LP. So waiting to see a specialist to hopefully start clomid. I didn't realise the LP issue when I wasn't tracking my OV so I naively thought I would get pregnant first or second cycle Envy

Hi malbec
What is the LP issue if you don't mind me asking?

I conceived first child straight after stopping the pill- had normal withdrawal bleed & no period after, then pregnant!

With no.2 earlier this year, stopped the Pill & had 1 normal period then got a positive test. But sadly had MMC at the dating scan over the summer Sad

Have had 2 periods since MMC, no contraception so I guess we're TTC.
Not really done all the checking/calculating before so it's all new.

Getting to grips with OPKs for now!

Sorry to hear about the MMC Turquiose was it a complete shock?

My LP is really short and with a few days of spotting before AF starts. Best I can hope for is 10 days but some months it's been more like 8 days Angry

Sorry to hear about all the mc. That must be really tough.
It is reasurring to know i'm not the only one as most/all my friends fell straight off and I find I get quite low about it.
Ive started taking Holland and Barrett well women and my cycle length has increased dramatically. I tried pregnecare and seven seas and they sent my cycle loopy!

DD1 was conceived on cycle 2 when I was 29. Started trying for #2 when I was nearly 34, and took 4 cycles to conceive which unfortunately ended in a mmc. After that it took me 11 cycles to finally fall pregnant with DD2. We were close to giving up, but got there in the end. Good luck!

Malbec - I have the same issue, although not quite as short as yours it seems. I get about two and a half weeks clear between AF, and then anything up to five days spotting, pain and grumpiness before it arrives. Much shorter than before DD. What have you learnt about why this happens? And Sunshine - that's very interesting too. I didn't know there was anything you could do. Hmmm.... pondering my next step!

Thanks malbec

Yes it was all a complete shock- I was 13 weeks & day of my dating scan I started bleeding.

I'd had brown discharge/spotting the night before and obvious read every single thread on here about that.

I do get twitchy now when people say brown spotting is ok, completely normal etc

It definitely wasn't for me.

It was a real kick in the guts- I'd had no issues (that I knew of) and there had been no reason to get an early scan.

We'd been looking forward to getting the scan photos to show family etc...instead we were put in the "quiet room" which I know all about now.

My whole perspective on pregnancy has changed completely.

Yes statistically most go on to se successful with a baby at the end.

But when you fall on the other side of the statistics, it's all just meaningless.

Sorry for the rant! Blush

Turquoise I'm so sorry for what u have been through. I do now think oh goodness it had taken me this long to fall I am desperate for it so a MC would be devastating.
I have another blood test this week. Not sure when they start testing hubby to check he isn't the problen, anyone had any experience with this?

On 4th cycle ttc no 2. Also got pregnant with ds (now 2.10) on cycle 1 but am nearly 40 now so am guessing this is why it is taking longer. I knew it would really but part of me thought it would be easy again. I am almost sure I had an egg fertilise but not implant first cycle as I had a lot of pregnancy symptoms followed by early af that started very lightly but no way of knowing for sure.Flowers to those who have had losses.

Af showed up again this month so that's 11 cycles, So depressing! However on the up side my first will be at school at this rate so looking after no 2 will be easier!
