Clomid and cancer risk

TTC 10 months and thinking of taking clomid. I am 40, no obvious cause of infertility (had various test) and I ovulate regularly every month. I've been reading up about clomid and am worried about the increased risk of ovarian cancer linked to its use. One study states it's only an issue if used over 12 months but still concerned that the concept behind it (increased oestrogen levels etc) is a risk factor for cancer. Also not sure how effective it would be given that I already ovulate naturally so don't want to take the risk unnecessarily. Anyone looked into this properly?

Hi Thomasina,

Sorry, I have no personal experience of Clomid. Have you asked your GP?

Are you ttc#1?

Loads of people take Clomid so it must be fairly safe?

I'm so glad I finally get what bump means! I thought it meant pregnant!!! Grin
