Implantation Bleeding?!

me and my partner started trying to conceive 20th of this month. i was due on my period Saturday (25th) and i am usually heavy flow having to buy thick pads and pass clots sometimes for 4 days and then i come off. 2 days before the due of my period i started needing to urinate more than normal, horrible headaches started coming, cramping every now and then, bloated and people i saw kept saying i looked tired and pale. Saturday came and no period, noticed twice a very light but hardly noticeable line of pink on tissue? which i naturally presumed was my period coming. this morning i woke up with cramps and needing a wee straight away, went and wiped and there was light pink so again thought period is definitely coming and put on a pad to be cautious. noticed spotting on the pad 2 hours later, then a very light pink bleed on the pad an hour after that. changed pad as was going dark and then again light pink at tea time on pad. im now unsure whether this is a light period or implantation bleeding. the strange think is when i wipe most the time there is no blood what so ever on the tissue but then odd occasions there is but very slight barely noticeable. googled the symptoms and indicates to implantation. also the timing makes me think this too as its been 6 days today sins we tried and says can takes 5-10 days after conception for bleeding to occur if it does happen. i'm now 2 days late on period with this light bleed. wanted to know what others would do in my situation or if anyone has experienced anything similar? im new to this too so never posted before and not sure how posts work :) thanks everyone in advance

Hiya, was you on contraception before the 20th.. But just wasn't officially "trying" or did you come of contraception on the 20th, it does sound like implantation bleeding however the dates are so close ( but it's not impossible!) unfortunately the only way you'll know for definite is this time next month when you can start testing or miss another period! Fingers crossed, sending baby dust! :*

You are not pregnant. If you only started trying five days before your period was due you won't have has an egg to fertilise. You release an egg approximately 12-14 days before your period is due. This egg only lives 24-48 hours. You don't get another until your next cycle.

Some people ovulate late, particularly if coming off contraception when cycles are messed up, or after miscarriage.

I OVd on day 20 this cycle after a chemical pregnancy.

It's unlikely, as it's not a lot of time for the egg to implant before your period sheds the lining, but it could be a pregnancy.

As simply said - you missed the egg. It's highly unlikely you ovulated 5 days before. If you are always regular then you are not pregnant.

However if you have recently stopped any contraception like the pill your cycle will be a mess. It's still very unlikely you are pregnant but there's a small chance. It could make ovulation and your period very late though and you still not be pregnant so don't get too hopeful just yet as it's disheartening when it doesn't happen. Best of luck to you 🙂 Xx

thanks everyone! didnt think id get any replies on the thread.

no i havent been taking the pill sins i had my first daughter, stopped using it because thats how i got caught the first time around. i am usually very regular as ive been using this app so i know when im coming on its like clockwork. apart from one month when i was a week late due to what i could presume was stress.

i just cant understand why this bleed is different to my others. sins i was 16 they have always been heavy for 48 hours then slow down for 2 days then off. really unsure. tempted to go to doctors to speak to somebody!

thanks :)

It may be that you haven't ovulated at all this cycle. I understand that can cause a light bleed. It isn't anything to worry about though and can happen to any woman at any time.

hi guys,

so just checking in to tell you that i went to the drs ysterday as nothing on pad again over night, but the bleeding got heavier in the morning after i woke up. she said to do a test as could be a chemical pregnancy but could also just be that my periods just off this one time. only way to be sure was to do a test, it came up negative so but it definitely was my period. glad i got checked though as you can never be too sure! thanks to everyones advise :)
