TTC for 7 months, nothing happening so far. I am nearly 40 so it may obviously take longer. Saw an article by Zita West saying research shows that drinking alcohol increases the time is takes to conceive. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Hi candy, am sure the advice when ttc is avoid all alcohol, smoking, naughty foods, caffeine etc...but that's not real life!! Def try and cut down but we took a while to conceive which I found v stressful...cutting out my friday wine would have compounded the stress! Good luck x

I personally don't think it makes that big of a difference. I have friends who don't smoke, drink etc and are struggling to conceive and yet I also know people who are out every weekend and happened to fall pregnant on one of those weekends!
I honestly think it's a personal choice x

Cutting down is always sensible in preparation for abstaining during pregnancy.
