Implantation bleed?

It's five days before my period is due and I've just experienced a small amount of very dark brown discharge (sorry if this is tmi!) unlike any I've seen before. It's nine days since I ovulated, is this likely to be an implantation bleed? I'm only concerned because of the dates and the fact that I've never seen anything like it before. I'd love to have a baby, but I'm four months into a twelve month fixed term contract, so it's far from ideal, and we aren't TTC.

That sounds like my implantation bleeding, but it could be anything.

FWIW it took 5 days from my implantation bleed for a positive pregnancy test to show.
