Hi,

I've been TTC for 18 months and really don't want to stop trying. My DP is going to Barbados for a week on a business trip end of this month and i'm really worried about this Zika virus. I thought only women who were actively TTC or pregnant were being advised to reconsider travel plans to certain places, but what about the man? If he contracted it (Not sure how likely that is in Barbados?) Could this be passed on to me?

Am I supposed to stop TTC even though it's not me traveling?

There is something on the bbc website that says men should use condoms/abstain for a month afterwards to be sure, though longer IF he gets infected.

It can theoretically be transmitted
Sexually but this has only been proven in a handful of times. He should use plenty of deet!

Thank you so much. He is home around 10th March I think, so to be sure am I correct in thinking we should abstain until around 10th April (unless he shows symptoms of the virus?)

He is very attractive to mosquitos Angry

Hoping and praying I get caught this month before he goes!

Yes but i think that advice is super cautious.

Honest opinion Frazzled If you were me would you just write off the month that he comes home? Based on my cycles i'm not sure if that would be March or April.

I'm supposed to be starting an ovulation induction drug and we need to book our package with the hospital, so I can't even just wing it, I need to be certain of dates etc as it's costing us £500 to start the drugs.

Yes probably just to save the worry. Unless he came back without any bites.
It might all have a silver lining-
I got pg the cycle after having a
Ttc "break".
