Hi ladies,
I had my mirena coil removed on 18th November, my last period was 30th October, My periods were not regular while I was on the mirena, could go a couple of months without even spotting.
I was just wondering if anyone has experience with TTC after having the mirena out, I have read a lot of bad things that women don't get a period even after a year!! But I'm hoping I won't be waiting that long. We have been actively trying since removal but obviously I don't know when I'm ovulating becuase of removal and my last period etc. I did spot lightly 2 days after having my coil out, we had sex the day after removal and I did think could it be implantation?
I'm very new to all of this so any advice would be greatly appreciated X

Your fertility returns immediately after removal. Actually, some people experience hyperfertility.

I had a period a couple of weeks after removal. I conceived a couple of weeks after that! Theres quite a few stories knocking around like that. So I haven't a clue what my cycle would have been like after.

Hi indiX I had my coil out in late June I had a period about 4-5 weeks after that. Started TTC and got pregnant at the end of September on 3rd cycle currently 10+2. Hope you get pregnant quickly. My understanding is that your fertility returns immediately. (This was the reason I had the coil in the first place).

Hi girls!
Sorry I've only just seen all your posts. That's great you all were able to concieve quickly! I still haven't had a period but should I count my cycle from the date it was removed? 18th November?
God this is all so confusing, I was going a bit mad last week taking loads of pregnancy tests but I've calmed down now. And drank lots of wine Blush so what will be, will be.

I had mine out this past October (after 8 years in). The first cycle after it came out I felt horrific as my body adjusted to life without the Mirena. I did not get a positive OPK the month it came out. My first full period arrived a week early, and I conceived the very next month. We were a bit shocked, to tell the truth. I am 41 and didn't really expect to get pregnant at all.

OMG that's amazing Malvin, i hope I'm as fortunate as you. I still haven't had a period since removal and don't really know when to expect one. I had mine removed 18th and we have not used any protection since then. I have done numerous tests and all negative so going to do another test on the 18th of this month and see what it says. I just want to either have a period of a positive test! And I have neither atm..very frustrating!

I've just finished my first period after having the mirena removed so I'm taking that as a sign that my body is pretty much back to normal now. Will be TTC from now on, really would like a positive pregnancy test by January but don't want to get my hopes up.
