HELP. 5 weeks, 5 days PP... I think I may be pregnant again??

So I'm 5 weeks, 5 days PP. I had a vaginal delivery, with no stitches or anything. Very easy for me being a first time mom giving birth. I had sex (unprotected) using the pull out method at 3 weeks, 4 days PP. We got a little tipsy and it just happened. MY QUESTION IS.... I have been bleeding since I left the hospital, it lightened up and went brown which is when we had sex, started up a little again red and now it's back bright red and more of it. But it's been 15 days since we had sex. Yesterday I took 2 pregnancy tests and they were a faint line positive, and I took a digital and it said NEG. but the day before I took one and it was neg. with no line. And a week prior I took one and it was neg. I'm just confused. i don't know if I'm pregnant again or not.

I would say it sounds like you might be pregnant post a pic of the test maybe you should test again tomorrow are you still bleeding.

I'm not sure, I think your hcg levels are all over the place and take ages to go down after delivery. I think you need to speak to the gp or even better a sexual health clinic. They will be able to measure the levels and aee if they are increasing or decreasing. Are you breastfeeding? If so its less likely you are if feeding exclusively.

im not breastfeeding at all anymore. I only did right after she was born for a week and a little the 2nd week... And I see all over the Internet it takes a while for the levels to be all the way gone but I also hear that as soon as you deliver, those levels aren't detectable in your urine anymore by time your out of the hospital

I also took another test today and it was a faint line as well, just like the 2 I posted above

Hmmm I can see a line for sure in both those tests!

I agree with a pp, you should book in with the gp tomorrow and have some bloods done.

But by the look of those tests I'd say your pregnant!!!

I have my 6 week check up on Tuesday... So I was just gonna ask for a blood test when I go there for that. I know it's only 2 days away but I'm freaking out and I just wanna know already. My family is gonna look at me like I'm crazy if I'm pregnant after just giving birth 6 weeks ago ??

So nobody thinks it could be my hormone levels from after giving birth 6 weeks ago?

I took a pregnancy test I had lying around out of curiosity at 3 weeks PP and it was neg so my suspicion is that you're pregnant again.

I don't think it's from giving birth I think ur definitely pregnant again the pull out method isn't a reliable way to avoid pregnancy what will your partner say? would you be happy to be pregnant again so soon? Your very fertile after giving birth.

I'd say your definitely pregnant, congratulations! I had 11 months between my two boys and it is tough but lovely now. They are more like twins x

I had my coil put in at my six week check (the earliest you can do it I think) and the doc at the clinic who did it said they quite often see women who are accidentally pregnant at their six week check. So I think you definitely could be!

It could be your hormone levels. You need to speak to a professional but I completely understand your freaking out and posting here. I know after a tx it shows up as positive for a few weeks after but I don't know how many weeks.

I think I'm just in shock right now knowing that I could be. We couldn't get pregnant for 2 years and finally it happened and now we have our little girl. So it's just mind blowing knowing I could be pregnant again right now.... My fiancé isn't upset he's just in the state of mind I'm in too I guess. Just surprised. We will love the baby no matter what and be happy. It's just still kinda "unreal" that we more than likely could be. He also Keeps thinking it's my hormone levels though ... But I have even felt sick to my stomach the past week and a half .. So I kinda figured I was pregnant.

Mary... You're kids will be in the same school year Grin congrats!! I have 18 months between mine, so not a small gap compared to yours but its totally worth it in the long run!!

How do you feel? you must be in shock!!

I'd say another first response test in the morning will give you your answer or a digital test. That's amazing you were trying so long isn't it?! I've never heard of levels being high enough to give a positive at 6 weeks pp and I'm a midwife :)

Mary it's Sod's law isn't it. Spend months or years TTC then get PG using borderline contraception after only a couple of weeks lol.

Hope you're happy with your news, even if a bit of a shock!

Goodness..... Yes I'm still in shock. Because I know now that more than likely I'll be having another baby 9 months from now when I just had one.... So scary feeling. I'm taking me another test in the morning and then a digital one Tuesday morning to see if it says positive also ...

No I have to say, this is the shortest gap I've ever heard of. A friend of ins had a 10.5 month gap. It is such a shock, I got pregnant 8weeks pp and it's scary. You still Feel post-natal yet your pregnant! Look after yourself. It's exhausting being pregnant with a newborn but it will be worth it. You baby will have a built in buddy to play with :)
