Hi Ladies!

Just wanted to some advice on any foods, vitamins, positions or anything other strange and odd thing you think can/ will help when trying to conceive.

I have been trying for 1.5 year (properly) and am now using well woman vitamins plus extra Vitamin D, preseed (1st time this cycle) no coffee/ tea and just generally trying to eat healthy! Any tips to share?! x

Sounds like you are doing well prepping!! I don't have anything to add other than well done for looking after your body. I am not doing so great with that. I like my vino....

I've heard great things about evening primrose, this is what I'm trying this month (1st month) but I guess everyone is different so will react differently.

All the best xxx

Thanks so much Hopingfortwo! ??

I must say that I love my vino also (which is where I think I may have missed a few opportunities previously), so am now going to do what it seems other ladies on here do and only drink when I'm on my AF.. Makes sense! Yes I heard lots about epo too so think that may be my next step. What stage are you in this crazy process?! Lol xx

I was trying for 9 months and got pregnant the first month of using epo (cd1 until ovulation) and soy isoflavones (cd3 to cd7).

I was also taking the pregnacare conception vits and extra vitamin D.

This is by no means a recommendation but it happens that I got pregnant on holiday during which I was drinking a lot of red wine!

Good luck to both of you!

Me and hubby agreed some time ago that we'll try again when I'm 30. It's my bday next month and the age difference is growing (I have a 3yr old) so thought best we start now. So first cycle and I'm on day 3 of AF.

I see you have been trying for a while. Is it on and off trying? What's your storey?

Xx

Pearlyfish, this is how I got preggers with the first. Me and the OH got hammered and she was a lovely unplanned surprise baby. Are you still pregnant? How far along?

Hey Pearlyfish - think I need to try the epo as I heard lots about it. Is it actually an oil or vitamins? Also what is 'isoflavones'?! Confused read quiet abit about it on here.. Thanks ??

Hey Hopingfor2- Good luck to you! I'd say we have been having sex with no protection for 2 years but actively trying trying/tracking/DTD when ovulation for about 1-1.5 years! We are currently awaiting some tests, my husband had a semen analysis and myself the 21 day blood test, get them back on Monday so fingers crossed!

Hey Rivercam- haha if only it was that easy ay! We have had so much sex this month I'm knackered! Wink

Stace the evening primrose oil is an oil but it comes in capsule form so it's easy to take. The soy isoavones are a plant oestrogen which are supposed to strengthen your ovulation. They made me feel a bit ill so I didn't take a high dose. I wasn't particularly scientific about it, just googled what other women had done and copied that. I think there can be side effects of using them so it would be sensible for you to look into it a bit more so you can decide for yourself. Hope you have some good luck soon Smile

Hoping I'm nearly 11 weeks with number 2, hope you are in the same boat soon!

Luckily I conceived fairly quickly but I did use fertilaid supplement for the month before I conceived. Other than that only things we did was regular sex- every other day- and possibly tmi here but positions either missionary or doggy style and laid on front after doggy with pillows under hips and on back after missionary with pillows under hips! I'm now 37 weeks pregnant. Fingers crossed for you.

B complex vitamins and reflexology and dtd every other day rather than daily worked for us!

Stace2015 · 15/10/2015 22:16

Thanks Hopingfor2 I appreciate that ??

Thanks for the info too Pearlyfish, think I will firstly look into the epo and go from there! Good luck and congrats to you too ??

Hey Anna Laying on your front after DTD is a new one! May have to give it a go! Lol. Have started to lay on my back with my legs up for 10 mins or so afterwards and I seem to 'leak' a lot less like this. Yeh we have also been DTD every other day this month (a few times every day!), it's exhausting and slightly takes the fun out of sex ???? congrats to you also! ??

Spangles! That sounds amazing! Sometimes just letting loose is the best.. Letting nature do as it pleases I guess! Congrats to you! ?? My cousin got absolutely smashed on Christmas years back, dancing on the table, falling about.. Then found out she was pregnant a few weeks later! Mother Nature is a strange one lol

Have you read "Taking charge of your fertility"? It has good descriptions of how best to identify your most fertile times and how to pick up on anything that might be affecting conception.

Hey Tattie.. No I don't think I have read that! Where would I find it, is it a book or article? Thanks ??

It is a book, you should be able to order it online. I know two people who were having fertility investigations who got pregnant following the advice!

Haha thanks Tinkly and Tattie!

Oddly, I usually get egg white mucus every time I ov but this time I didn't?! I did use preseed though so maybe that's why..

With dd, DH and I just dtd every day until cd 19 or 20. I got 'the call' at work which meant that ofsted were in and I needed to live and breathe work for three solid days and nights. Got my bfp just after. I was so relaxed during the dtd time because I didn't expect to concieve so quickly and then distracted by ofsted during the tww that I actually found the whole thing fun. Last month, I was an obsessed nightmare and, it didn't happen. We only dtd after a positive opk and even then only three times. This month, and for however long it takes now, I'm going to try and relax and enjoy like last time. Good luck to all x

Thanks Loki! Yes I'm trying to be laid back about it this month but it's so difficult! Always a niggle thinking 'is this the month?!' Been DTD every other day as you said and have also taken preseed this month. On the tww wait now and no symptoms other than some light cramping/ pains in my ovaries! Fingers crossed Smile

Hi, just wanted to comment on the legs in the air thing!

I used to do this lots, it worked with my first but with my second it got me nowhere. Then at a smear test my GP said I had a tilted uterus and so lying on my front ( basically in doggy style position) was best. It now have my long awaited second baby.
