Most reliable sources say ovulation occurs around 14 days after AF has finished. But we're all human and tend to vary. Some people can feel when they ovulate - many don't. But ideally you want to DTD before you ovulate so the swimmers are all ready to meet your egg.

Evidence reviews suggest a good approach is to DTD every 2/3 days throughout your cycle to make sure you're covered.

I'm TTC #1, 30, cycle 1. I had my contraception taken out on 1st July so am awaiting a sign of my fertility springing into action. Just started using ovulation tests and I've got my fingers crossed.

Im only 20, but since my MC the wanting for a child is unreal. I know women go through months & months of TTC, so i do aplogize if i offended anybody with this post but im really intrigued with the process :) so from what i can gather, starting from monday we should be active every 2-3 days (shouldnt be a problemBlushGrin). Fx for both of us, wonder if well be lucky!!

I think typically ovulation occurs between day 12 and 20. Your first day of your period is day 1. Look out for signs of heavier jelly like discharge, which is a sign you are within your fertile period x

If you want to know for sure then tou should track your temp using an app like Fertility Friend and use ovulation predictor kits. The actual point in our cycle when you ovulate is not fixed but it will be xx days before af starts as your luteal phase iS fixed at a set number of days +/-1.

In my case, ov is usually cd10-13 with a lp of 14/15 days giving a cycleof 24-27 days but have had cycles up to 41 days.

Shannon, MrsRiggins is wrong, it's approx 14 days from first full day of bleeding. Although, I tend to O on CD18 and only have a 10day lutal phase (the time between ovulation and the start of your next period). If you have the time/inclination then yes, have sex every other day until your next period. I personally know when I'm ovulating as I get lots of egg white cervical mucus, my nipples get quite painful and...well, the term 'bitch in heat' applies. I want to shag LOTS. I used ovulation prediction kits too from cycle 1 (am just starting cycle 5) and it's really helped me learn my cycle, along with temping for a bit too so now I know how soon after a positive OPK I ovulate). Having done that for a while I now feel I know my cycle really well Smile
