We've been ttc for 3 weeks now and it's at the stage where if we have 15 mins were having sex just to try and impregnate me!
I Ovulated may 9th and we must have done it twice a day every day for 4 days.
We really want to get a bfp asap so basically doing it constantly to raise our chances.
When should I pregnancy test?
AF is due 28th.

xxxxx

In the nicest way, get a grip. You might be lucky and get upduffed immediately, or, like many on here you may have a long road ahead. Starting out like this does nothing for your resiliency, should you have difficulty conceiving- you need to mentally prepare yourself for this to take a while, then count yourself lucky if it doesn't.

Sperm can live inside you for up to five days. Shagging twice a day can actually damage the sperm quality- you need to calm it down Wink . Work out when you are ovulating (plenty of info/apps online to help you do this) and try to DTD every other day in the week around that time. Make sure you are taking folic acid. Test once your period is late. Good luck Grin

I concur - have less sex and calm down! Also, sex after about 24 hours after ovulation is pointless in ttc terms; it's before you want to do it!

You will ovulated between 12-24 hours (rarely up to 36 hours) after an LH surge if that is how you are telling you are ovulating, or day before a temp surge if you are monitoring that.
If you ovulated on the 9th, the you want to shag on the 9th and 10th. You can shag on the 11th to be sure but chances are it will be too late. There is a debate about shagging more than once a day and sperm counts/quality, but there is evidence both ways depending on what journal articles you read.
Piss on a pregnancy stick once your period is late is the best advice (cheaper and less heart ache). First response sticks are useful but also expensive. Also they can show up a chemical pregnancy, which for me I would rather not know about. If you must POAS before wait until at least 10po.
Also ditto the calming down thing. Statistically speaking this will take you a while, so save yourself the crazies and don't get too excited. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones that find it easy, but there is heart ache ahead if you get your hopes up and it takes a while.

Thanks for the advice ladies!! 2 x BFPs arrived yesterday!! Not getting excited until we've been to the doctors though, just in case. One dip stick and one clear blue! Xx
