Terrified I'm infertile

I am desperate for some help. I have consulted my doctor about this who was disinterested as it's not life threatening in my opinion.
In 2013 I had no periods for a year. I had a blood test in which I got told " normal except for ever so slightly high lh hormone" we went through my life style and diet etc and she said I sounded healthy. I display no other symptoms of pcos ( weight gain etc) but I know you can have the cysts ( pco) without the syndrome ( pcos)
No more said by doctors and turned away.
They came back on their own.
Now their regular every 38-43 days.
Their no longer painful except minor cramping a few hours before and first day and not very heavy ( no blood over night after first two days) add more like spotting day three- seven.
Before they stopped I used to be in lots of pain sometimes and very heavy.
I started my periods at ten years old and they stopped for a year at nineteen.
My question is does anywhere know if a slightly high lh is enough to stop periods and can it regulate it self and come back?
I know people with pcos sometimes have two or three times the lh level but my doctor only said mine was slightly high. So can a slightly high lh stop periods without it being pcos?
I'm terrified I'll never conceive in the future and the thought of never having children is taking over my life.
I'm due to start therapy again in a weeks times.
Thanks for any help.

Hi
Have you tracked whether you are ovulating?
If your AF comes regularly albeit them fairly long cycles and you ovulate I would think you were fertile.
How long have you been Ttc?
I'm afraid I don't know about blood test level results as I've never been shown mine, they like to keep them a secret just saying things look "fine".
Sorry I can't be any more help.

I haven't tracked no.
I'm terrified I'll find out I'm not :(
Can periods just stop for no reason?

Sorry, I don't know enough about it
Hopefully someone will come along soon who can tell you more
Maybe buy some opk's from amazon or eBay and test for a month, at least that way you'll know either way and you can go in and discuss your findings with the doctor.

I had ridiculously irregular periods through my teens up until I had DD (early 30's). They "started" age 16 and I would have one, maybe two a year. I was investigated in my early twenties, all normal except for a mild hormone imbalance. They recommended I started the pill and while I was on it, my periods were literally like clockwork.

When I had to stop it for medical reasons, they went back to being unpredictable again, maybe 3-4 a year. I had no idea how on earth I would conceive when I never knew when a period was coming, or if I was even ovulating. We conceived DD in six weeks! Bit of a shock to say the least. Currently pg with DC2, who took 8 months but no assistance. My cycles also stabilised a lot after DD to around 33 days.

I can't give you much advice but I do know that periods can stop and start. Stress and diet can affect them, and hormone levels change throughout our lives. I hope my ramblings can give you some reassurance that wonky cycles don't necessarily mean major problems! If you're going to test with opks, I would do it for a few months and then go back to the GP Flowers

Thanks that really cheered me up :)
Seeing as I have no symptoms of pcos now and the only thing I had was a slightly high lh/ no periods for a year makes me believe I don't have pcos and I will go on to have a baby.
Congrats on your dd and second pregnancy

If I had pcos would I still be having symptoms now?
The only tHing I have now is that my cycles are between 38-43 days which is on the longer side?
Surely if I had pcos I would still be missing my periods though?

I'm sorry for rambling I'm just terrified we will never conceive and that all options ( Clomid, ivf) etc will fail. :(

I suffer from anxiety and am due to start therapy for it in a week.

I felt exactly the same as you for many years, though it sounds like your anxiety is making it even harder for you. I was convinced we would have trouble conceiving and due to a medical problem, wasn't sure if I'd even be able to go down the assisted conception route, due to the meds involved.

I'm not sure from your posts whether you're currently ttc and for how long, or if your concerns are more about ttc in the future? If it's the former, they won't do any tests until you've been trying at least a year as 92% of healthy couples conceive naturally in that time (I liked those odds!). If you're more anxious about the future, then the counselling is definitely a great idea. CBT or Mindfulness techniques might help you to deal with the unhelpful thoughts/feelings better?

Thanks.
It is defiantly making it very hard for me.
I have been ttc for a tiny two months haha. So I know it's nothing and tbh I've been having very little sex as I'm so upset :/
Can I ask is your under lying health issue the reason why your periods where so all over the place? Or was it the hormonal Imbalance? The only Imbalance I had was a slightly high lh. Luckily periods came back after a year between 38-43 days.
I'm scared though they'll leave me again like last time and ill have no periods again :( .
I'm normal weight, no health issues, 21, never smoked, never took drugs, rarely drink, no family history of fertility issues. Can I really even consider pcos until I've been trying for a year?

My health issue had nothing to do with my mental periods Smile. But the condition means I can't use hormonal contraception, and therefore I assumed any hormone therapy during fertility treatment, should I ever have needed it. I think it must have been the hormone problem that led to the irregular cycles, as while I was on the pill, I had a 28 day cycle each and every month.

Was the year your periods stopped particularly stressful? Were you travelling and maybe not eating as well? Were you on any other medical treatment? I got a little anxious this time round trying for DC2 but if you look at all the info around, a year ttc is not considered that abnormal (even though every month feels like forever!). Don't forget stress massively affects your chances of ttc too, so that's probably the main thing to address first with the counselling.

Hi.
Thanks, that makes me feel like the fact my periods stopping could be nothing. I understand the only way to really know is to relax and try for a year/two years.
Where your periods irregular and you went on the pill to make the regular?
Or did the pill make them irregular?
That year Wasnt paticulary stressful, I was eating well etc.
I guess I really have no evidence to suggest I have an issue either. I'm lucky I'm normal weight, young and healthy and have no family history surely that is in my favour ?

The pill made my cycles regular. Yep, given all the things you've said, the only thing really not in your favour is the stress. And you're already taking steps to remedy that. Go to counselling, have lots of sex (obviously not at counselling! Grin) get out an enjoy life, exercise and see what happens for the next 6-8 months. You're only 21, you have plenty of time.

Off the top of my head, I know ladies (also no health issues) who took 4 months, 5 months, 8 months, 9 months and 12 months to conceive naturally. And they all now have multiple DC.

Thanks I have one more query if anyone knows anything about this

Hi.
Sorry for not replying sooner

Well yesterday about 4pm I noticed a lot of discharge in my underwear so went to check and found some really stretchy ewcm.
However when I went to check in the evening could not find ewcm. But was still very wet.
This morning I found some ewcm but now I'm finding none and not as much discharge in underwear. Using an ovulation calculator I put in 38 day cycle and 16 day luteal phase and got the dates 20th-24th may.
My question I'd even though I can't find ewcm every time is it possible it's just really high up and I'm not finding it? And can it still be their even if I'm not getting as much discharge in my underwear today?
Ovulation should occur on the 24th if theirs to be a 16 day lp and 38 day cycle.
Last cycle I noticed lots of cm in underwear 15/16 days before period but the cycle before that only had it between ten-four days before period started.
