Cheapest place to buy a CBFM? Do I go for new or old version?

Hi,

I conceived using CBFM, I then lent it to a friend (who was never successful in conceiving, so I obviously I don't want to ask for it back!). I am now ttc and want to buy another CBFM. So, where's the cheapest place to buy it? And is it best to go for new or old version?

I bought mine new in the original packaging on eBay... opted for the advanced fertility monitor which was listed for £70 but my offer of £55 was accepted.

Felt like a bargain compared to the £120 boots are charging. Haven't used the older type so can't comment which one is best but I like the new one so far!

I wouldn't bother. I have the old version and although it works perfectly i conceived DS using Clearblue smiley sticks. I find this method a lot cheaper. With the smiley sticks you get a 4 day window but you get 40 sticks for about 25 pounds on Amazon. With the CBFM I am paying 23 pounds for sticks for each cycle. Plus if you used cheapie OPK sticks with the smiley sticks you could probably make 40 sticks last 4 cycles!

Pear I haven't wanted to go for the OPKs. I used cheapie ones both times round when conceiving and I never got a positive reading. Which just stressed me out (I have no idea why). Although I have 2DCs so I presume I do or did ovulate? I don't have a lot of faith in them- although are the Clearblue smiley sticks different in some way? Maybe I will give them a go..

I was same... never got a positive result with Boots OPKs which was pretty stressful and I wasted £20 - however I got my peak in the first two weeks of using CBFM.
