Hi all,

To cut a long story short

Started my periods late only had a few, then they vanished. Gynaecologist wasn't overly worried as I had at least had them.

Now I am with my partner and we are thinking about children at some point.

I have had a scan on my womb/ ovaries and numerous blood tests, all of which are fine.

Recently went back to the gynaecologist who has put me on Provera. Today was day 5 of my 5 day course. Today I have had really bad tummy cramps, I can feel something is happening, but no show yet.

Just wondering if any one else has gone or is going through the same thing??

x

What's your weight like? I've had amennhorrea (sp?) on and off over the years and it's always been related to being underweight. All three of my children were conceived when I made a conscious effort to tone down the exercise and increase my calorie intake.

If anything I am not underweight, I could do with losing a few pounds!
:( apparently weight isn't an issue ( so they say )

I left school in 2003 so it's a fair amount of time for a no show of periods.

I thought two years with no periods under the age of 50 was considered menopausal.

Oh wonderful lol.

Several things were looked in to such as pcos and early menopause.

I NEVER have periods-ever!!! I have pcos needed clomid to conceive, before I was given that I had provera to give me exact period days to take the clomid on, but still didn't have a period. Had a baby which has kick started periods again, now naturally 13wks. You might just need a bit of help getting there but if all your test are coming back good, do they show that you are ovulating?

I am so worried I won't be able to have children.

Nothing has been mentioned about ovulation, but I have only been to one appointment so far.

All these tummy cramps I really want it to come sigh

If then provera don't bring the period on then I have another tablet to take, I can't remember the name of it, quite a long one starts with M (will have to find the notes)

Hi Sweet,

I took something similar a few years back when id been without a period for about 20 months. I had a horrible period with lots of stomach cramp and then my periods went back to normal.

I'm now waiting for my periods to come back post pill and wondering if I'll need a similar kick start!

Hope yours come back soon!

Your gyne needs to establish whether you are ovulating. Not ovulating would be the most obvious cause.

Have you had cramps but no bleed before?

This is the closest I've been to having a period.
Apparently once the 5 day course is done, have to leave a week then 'should' have a period.

Not back at gyne until next month now
