Hi all,

Me and my partner is ttc and I come of the pill in December so waiting for my body to get back to normal. I have some OPK tests from the internet and tested before the weekend and had no lines come up. We went away for the weekend and have now come back. I tested yesterday and I had a line that was (i think) the same colour as the control line). We DTD yesterday but i have just tested again today and have no line.

Should we still DTD? Is there a chance we can still conceive or are we too late? Will the intercourse we had yesterday give us a chance?

Appreciate the replies in advice.

How old are you? Do you think it will be difficult for you? If not, I would ditch the tests to begin with, and just relax and enjoy Wink

Can't really give you a good answer as I've not gone down the OPK route yet! but just in case no else gets a chance to reply before it's too late, personally I'd DTD anyway...just in case (even if it's not helpful, at least it's fun ;)).

Good luck!

Hi,

We are 28, as ive just come off the pill 2 months ago i dont know if im ovulaing yet which is why i was using OPK to try and judge this. Also, i can't chart yet as im waiting for my AF to get back to normal.

Just wasn't sure if we have missed our opportunity tonight? thanks also to Spotti Smile

anyone else have experience with opk that could shed any light?

Yes keep going, a positive opk tests for the surge before ovulation, so you could still ovulate up to 48 hours from now!

So there's still a chance to DTD even though the OPK is not registering any line?

I would definitely dtd tonight and tomorrow - you are not too late! As misshobart said the OPK detects the surge before ovulation, you usually ovulate v soon after the surge. Good luck!

darrenwis - yes, the line doesn't show actual ovulation, just the surge of LH prior to, so after the surge you have up to 48 hours before you ivulate. You need to dtd plenty before and after the surge to make sure you've got swimmers up there ready to meet the egg when it comes!
