Anyone have any experience of Bromocriptine?

Hi!

I ovulated on CD 16, started taking Bromocriptine a few days later and am now on CD 41 (!) but no sign of AF except for some cramps last week that came to nothing. I have had high temps the entire time but I am not pregnant.

I'm TTC #2. With 1st pregnancy two yrs ago I took bromocriptine for slightly elevated prolactin levels, which the gynaecologist thought was the cause of my previous RMC. My GP was happy to put me back on the same treatment regimen as my prolactin levels are a couple of hundred over what they should be.

Should I come off Bromocriptine in order for AF to arrive? Does it delay AF and, if so, why?

Thank you so much to anyone who can help!!

Hi,

I was recently on Bromocriptine. I started it a few days short before Ovulation. I had to come off of it (was ordered to yesterday, after severe chest/back pain), as I was getting horrible side effects that I did not even know was caused by the bromocriptine at first. :/ My period just ended some days ago and totally resembled a normal period (though it came a day later than normal, but I was sick.
I have heard it can delay Ovulation, but nothing about a period.

Thanks mawinter,

I just don't know what to think. I'm going to get an appt with the GP but it will be next week, I'm sick of waiting for AF to arrive so toying with the idea of just coming off Bromocriptine as I can't think of any other reason why AF is so late. I have also been sick the past week, but it was always my understanding that once you'd ovulated nothing (except pregnancy, obviously!) can delay AF.
