ask gp to check for pcos some forms may show up as/cause thyroid problems

I would also agree with asking to see if PCOS is an issue as this can also display very similar symptoms (the irregular periods as well as the prolactin imbalance).

On an internal ultrasound scan polcystic ovaries have a characteristic ring of pearls appearance and appear larger than normal size. The normal size of an ovary is walnut sized.

Thyroid and prolactin imbalances can be treated with tablets.

I have conceived with thyroid problems and have two lovely children but did have a miscarriage between them as thyroid was out of control. I am currently on 125mcg thyroxine a day it was 150mcg whilst pregnant.
