Endoscopy - recovery speed, tips to feel better?

After two years of no luck TTC I had an endoscopy yesterday. Surgeon said all looks perfect, just got to keep trying. Ok, great. But geeze, I ache right now.
Anyone else had it, or is a theatre type person? How long will I feel shite for? My shoulders ache, surgeon did say to expect this, I don't think I listened properly, I didn't imagine it would be this horrid. When will the bloating in my stomach go down? My hips hurt too! I do have painkillers but they aren't going to make my swelled belly go down!
Sympathy please, and tales that I will feel well soon!

Hey, I had one several years ago. The shoulder pain is crazy, but apparently that's where the gas that they fill you with escapes, I feel your pain. If you're feelin shoulder pain then the swellings reducing!
If I remember right I was much better after 3-5 days. I was only 15 when I had mine though (AF issues and a too thick womb lining!) so I potentially milked the "patient" treatment, and I was on seriously strong tablets and I have the lowest pain threshold on the planet!
I hope your better soon xx

Hi, April, thanks so much for replying, and your kind words.
Yeah, the shoulder pain is unreal! But glad to hear it means the gas is escaping! I think I zoned out a bit when the consultant was talking to me, thinking how bad could it be!

How long til my belly isn't a swollen mass of gas? The shoulders are painful but bearable, the stomach swelling is just so uncomfortable. Plus I have the cut on my belly.
I read to drink peppermint tea, which I am doing, and is helping some, but still, argh!
xx

I'm sure I was back to normal, swelling wise within a week, so not too long x I still had the dressing on my tummy after the week!
The first couple if days were the worst. Put your feet up abd relax over the weekend. You'll feel tonnes better by Monday xxx

Thanks. I really didn't expect so much swelling! Can't understand why the gas doesn't escape already. I had a peek under the dressing just now, doesn't look too bad, thank goodness. I think I will take it off tomorrow.
Can't sleep well, so uncomfortable. Does make you appreciate being well at other times.
Roll on Monday! xxx
