Hi all,

I am new here and thought I would join to get some moral support.

We have only just started trying(last month), I am very impatient and cannot wait for when my ovulation calender says I am going to be in the "high times".

However, I am getting very anxious about the pregnancy symptoms.

I may sound a little obsessive, please ignore my neurotic tendencies! But for years I have suffered with anxiety around sickness and although I am very very ready for a baby and have wanted one for a couple of years now(never been the right time and only been married 12 days to date!) I just cannot get over the worry I have about being sick or feeling sick.

I wonder if my obsessions are becoming unhealthy or my eagerness to be pregnant and just get on with it are normal?

Help???

Welcome to Mn and congratulations on your marriage Thanks

How old are you tiggle? If you are under 35 I'd be tempted to just take the frolic acid and forget about conceiving for a few months, just shag like a newly wed and enjoy a few drunken nights with your lovely new hubby Smile

If the sickness worry is really affecting you, have you thought of CBT?

Yes indeed welcome to MN!

I agree it might be an idea to look at managing your pregnancy specific anxieties prior to pregnancy. Fwiw some women have very little or no sickness in pregnancy.

Honestly? In the early days TTC I strongly recommend ditching all forms of charts, conception indicators, ovulation predictors etc and just have sex three times a week, every week to optimise your chances of conceiving. Just keep a record of your cycle dates. Good luck, hope it happens soon for you :)

Thank you, that is really helpful,

I am taking pre-natal vitamins.

I am 28 years old. I am not restricting our sex or anything, believe me we are like we were 6 years ago when we met!!

Thanks for the support though, I have had several types of therapy and the anxiety is best controlled with medication, however, it fares up now and again!!

thank you, I will try to be calm
