I'm a complete newbie, first post, please be kind! I don't understand most of the abbreviations either. I was on the depo provera jab for about 7yrs. I'm 35. No children. Last jab ws due 6th dec 2012 but i didn't have it. I had a few 'almost' periods, had the cramps, hip ache etc and emotional. Not a 'proper' period as only has a couple of days of very very light flow, more like discoloured discharge than period (tmi sorry) nothing for a couple of months. Is there anything i can do/take to encourse or stimulate ovulation? I am feeling much more emotional than when i was on contraception, and have constantly sore boobs! Any help or advice appreciated. Thank you.

Hi

I was on the shot for about 4 years & when I came off it i waited around 8 months to start having regular periods. When they came & I was ttc it happened quite quickly for me using an ovulation calculator etc & I took pre pregnancy vitamins
With regards to getting a more regular cycle I would wait a little longer then visit your GP & ask them about what help they can give you.You are 35 so when you visit the GP I would push for a referral to a fertility specialist ;) hope this helps & hope you are blessed with a baby soon

Sometimes people do conceive after a few months from coming off it. Not sure if fertility clinics would be likely to try stimulating ovulation this s

It took me 2 years tc after depo - had fertility help. In view of your age (hope that's not rudeBlush) GP might be more willing to give you some clomid to ensure ovulation?

I've got the same concern too but have only had 2 shots. does it depend on how long you've been taking the depo shot?
