Mirena removed 24 days ago, could I be pregnant?

I hope someone can share their experience / knowledge. I had a Mirena coil and was due to have it removed at the end of this year, with a plan to TTC in the New Year.

I suddenly had a lot of horrible cramps, pains etc so had it removed 24 days ago. Was in a lot of pain, was honestly scared it had perforated or that I had an ectopic, but it had just 'wandered' and was retrieved and removed with little hassle.

Then, I had very horrible cramping and bled like a faucet for 10 days, ended up anaemic, was put on iron. The bleeding stopped very suddenly on day 10 after removal.

On day 12 after removal, we had sex. That's the only time we've had sex in this cycle, actually am not even sure if I can call it a 'cycle' as I had very rare periods while Mirena was fitted, and so don't know when a period would be due.

The sex was 12 days ago. For the past four days, I have felt bloated, starving hungry and craving red meat and spicy food. My breasts are enormous, I haven't had such a good cleavage since I was pregnant with DD.

So, it's too early to test, especially as I'm not sure where I am in my cycle. But all I can think of is could I be pregnant so quickly and has this happened to anyone else? I know Mirena hormones can do all sorts of strange things, so am just wanting some advice from someone who has experienced something similar.

I reckon it's possible. A friend of mine had a coil removed after some irregular bleeding and discomfort. She had a baby almost exactly 9 months later. Have you done a test?

Reckon it's too early to test though I'm not really sure when I can as not sure where I am in my cycle, if that makes sense? Think I have to wait 4 weeks after DTD

Why wait 4 weeks, we would normally have the dreaded 2 week wait and that's bad enough- whats making u feel u should extend it? Also I think if ur symptoms are as strong as cravings etc a test would work- though I'm no expert. If I were you, I would test, after all there's no harm in it xx

Thanks so much. I've never had to do a two week wait before so I'm probably in a bit of a muddle. My DD was conceived in first month of trying and had regular periods so tested on third day I'd missed. Thanks for the advice. I will test tomorrow and let you know on here. I've appreciated having some wise words. Kind ladies, thank you.

BFN today, but will keep you updated if AF turns up or if I end up with a BFP.

It could just be your body adjusting. When I came off the pill I had a light bleed 2 weeks later then nothing for.94 days but I had so many 'symptoms' I was convinced I was pregnant about 3 times. My boobs ached for about 6 weeks, felt sick, starving all sorts really. Fx for you but just try not to be too disappointed if it doesn't happen immediately.

You could have ovulated that resulted in a pregnancy. The withdrawal of the hormones may have lead to the bleeding and then restarted your cycle which would result in ovulation. I would wait another few days and take a test since it's already been almost 2 weeks since intercourse. Keep us posted!

Did another test as still no period. BFN still. Cravings and starving feelings markedly lessened. Still bloated with Dolly Parton bossom.
