Day 21 Progesterone

Hello mumsnetters, I?m after opinions on what I should do about my ?day 21? progesterone test.

First the background, I have been TTC since Jan 2012. In that time I have been charting bbt and cm and have had LP ranging from 5 days to 12 days with an average of 8 days. Avg ovulation on day 17 and avg cycle length 24 days. For the past few cycles I have been using OPKs which seem to correlate well with my temp rise.

A week or so ago I went to the GP because I was concerned about my varying/short LP. She didn?t seem too concerned about the LP but too my surprise offered me day 21 and day 2 blood tests. She told me to book the day 21 test on day 21 regardless of when I think I ovulated.

Fast forward to today.... I am CD 18, I got my smiley face on my OPK this morning and my Day 21 test booked for Friday. I know that the day 21 test is supposed to be 7 DPO, so if you were me would you a) do as GP said and go for the test on day 21 (which will be 2/3 DPO) or move the blood test to Monday so that it will be 6 DPO but only 2 days before my period is due?

I dont know the answer so ring your GP and ask them :)
