Conception

TTC 1st - just off the pill but still no period. Wishful thinking?

Just some background - I'm 34 and have mild PSO, but I've always been regular with my period when not on the pill and have sprung back immediately into my cycle in the past.

I came off the pill over a month ago (after 2.5 years of taking it) and still haven't got my period. It's been 31 days now (thanks to my new ap!)

About a week ago I feel like I was getting it - had some of the syptoms, a little bit of spotting, some stomach cramps and hormonal-type spots but since then nothing.

I know it can take a while for things to re-regulate, but do you think it's possible that I could be pregnant (or am I just fooling myself?) How long shall I give it before checking?

Thanks in advance for any advice...

novia this us almost exactly what happened to me, on the mini pill for the years, came off it in december, no period, cramps and bleeding for one day.... Tested in february and was six weeks pregnant!

My baby didn't stick unfortunately but it was nothing to do with the pill etc.

Good luck : test whenever you are ready but yes it is definitely possible!

With DS1, we decided to ttc and I came off the pill. Couple of weeks later I got cold feet and decided I wasn't quite ready for this after all, and would go back on the pill after my next period... Yes, that was nearly a year later, so yes, you could be!

Good luck.

I was on the pill for a long time, my first month AF didn't arrive until 36 days later so could be your body getting used to the change. Don't want to dampen your spirits, In sending lots of baby dust just didn't want you to pin your hopes on it! Good luck x

The pill leaves your system very quickly after taking the last tablet.

If you were previously diagnosed with polycystic ovaries this does not go away of its own accord. It is probably responsible for your irregularity of cycle now.

Thanks everyone - I shall keep my fingers-crossed! Attila - it's pretty mild PSO by all accounts and has never affected my periods; it's just meant that in the past I've had some breakthrough bleeding (though not this month actually...)
