3 weeks late and still negative HPT - Help!! Has this happened to anyone else??

Hi all, i'm looking for anyone that has been in a similar situation and what the outcome was?
I had the copper coil fitted three and a half weeks ago and was due to have my period two days later (day 36 of a regular 38 day cycle), up til this point my husband and I have been using condoms or the withdrawal method :)

The GP said that because it was a non-hormonal coil it wouldnt affect my periods at all and to expect my period shortly. Well, to cut a long story short I have done about 7 HPT tests, including one on Friday that have all been negative. When I was a week overdue I also had a negative blood test.
I just cant understand what is going on?? I have never been this late before!

I have been feeling nauseous on and off for last few weeks and sometimes have tingly boobs, emotional and I keep having period like cramps and expecting it to happen any day, but nothing. Could this be the result of having the coil fitted do you think or is it just one of those things? Has anyone been pregnant but it hasn't shown up for a while?? Sorry, so many questions and a bit of a rant!! Feeling a bit confused and fed up now...just want to know one way or another!!
