I got cheapo ones off Ebay and they worked fine (am now 20 weeks pregnant, though clearly not due to them alone!) - showed a VERY clear line when I was ovulating and nothing when I randomly tried in between times so I felt fairly sure they were ok. You could have a duff set though.

I use amazon Cheapy tests after running them in parallel itch cb digitals or a cycle and find them fine. But all opks are dependent on catching your wee at the right concentration and the right time for your fluctuating lh levels.
For me, opks tend to be very neg early afternoon, bit neg evening, occasionally positive lat thing at night, and always get my positives with fmu (but I don't get positives with fmu all month, just when Ov).
So everyone's different. I'd recommend choosing 2or 3 set times in the day and test at each of them til you find your positives and the best time for you.
This month I'm trying temping alongside opks as I tend to get several days of positives.
With opks, a neg is a neg, no matter the variability in line strength, I think that's why lots of people prefer digitals.
Good luck

I use the eBay ones and they seem pretty reliable my last one the positive line was darker than the control line I then double checked with a clear blue and got a smiley, I ordered 50 and only had 1 dud so far.

Think they're all much the same and so long as the test line is as dark or darker than the control line it's a positive, I googled some pics when I first started which I found helpful comparing with others

I used some this month, and I thought that they werent working because Id used more expensive ones some days, and there seemed to be nothing on the cheapy and a line (though not positive) on a Clearblue one.

I found that you do need to leave them for 5 mins though and read them then, when I got a proper positive on a clearblue I tried the cheapy to make sure and a line didnt show straight away but it did after 5 mins and it was clearly darker than the control.

So I would use them again but with a small supply of better ones to check I think. Its such a lot of money otherwise, and somedays I like to wee on sticks A LOT!

Most women ovulate 12-36 hours after a positive. You won't ovulate til after opks have stopped being positive though, so for those like me who have a long surge it's worth keeping dtd until 2 days after last positive, just to be sure.

Hi I've been using cheap 10ml(?) from amazon and been getting negatives results all week, inc yesterday. I know when I should have ovulated so it was confusing me that no AF, if bfn's.

I went out and bought a digital test today. Tested tonight - positive!! In shock. came straight up with "pregnant", then eventually 2-3 weeks.

So, Im not trusting cheapies now!!(but could be I only had enough hgc today...)
