Sorry if this is a silly question but how long before a period can you conceive? Or how close to your period can you conceive? I'm really confused! Thank you.

Normally 10 days to 2 wks after your period isn't it?!

it massively depends on the length of your cycle but ovulation usually occurs around 12-16 days before your period. Hopefully someone will come along soon with a better answer but didn't want to leave you waiting!

As farrow said, ov usually takes place 12-16 days before your period starts. But sex a few days before ov could lead to conception. Once ov has taken place, the egg can apparently only be fertilised for around 24 hours, then conception is no longer possible.

I hope this helps!

Is this any help?

Thank you everyone. This really helps! I am having really difficulties working out my cycle. Guess I've just got to wait now and see if it arrives!
