Was just looking on ebay and happened across 25 very early pregnancy tests. it claims they can tell 7 days after conception. has anybody heard of these or tried them. is it worth putting a bid on or will it be a total waste of money?

I have used plenty of them! (poas addict)

The 10miu ultra early tests are very sensitive but when you use them that early, there is no guarantee. And the lines are very very faint. I have never got a result less than 9 or 10 days after conception. More like 11 days really for a convincing result.

The good thing about these tests is that they are very cheap. The bad thing is that they encourage you to go mental each month with testing. This is NOT a good thing. If you want to buy some, it's better to wait until your period is due to use them, or perhaps 2 days before if you want to test early. That way, you can trust the result. Otherwise, you will test 8 days after conception, you get a negative, you think "oh well it's early" and you try again the next day, and then next day, and the day after. And then you get your period anyway but you have wasted 6 sticks.

Yes I blitzed through 14 in two months at one point....that's when I knew I had a problem!
I decided even with the cheapies to only test a day before af was due in the future which I've stuck to. I keep a 'proper' test in for if I ever when I convince several cheapy tests.

The internet cheapy ones are usually the most sensitive (10 ui/l or something). The only, thing with them is you need to pee in a pot and then dip them in as they are different to the shop brought ones that you can use mid-flow.

One thing worth bearing in mind is that with very sensitive tests you can also pick up chemical pregnancies. I had one, where I got a positive at 10 days after conception and then by 13 days after conception was negative again and then got my AF 15 days after conception. If I had used a normal test, I would never have known.

Also, with such cheap tests it is so easy to get addicted!!

I'm waiting for my cheap eBay tests to arrive, fingers crossed they will come this morning!

I can see how they could become addictive though, especially with my lackof-- patience Grin
