Miscarriage TTC again

Hello ladies

This is going to be a bit rambly!

I sadly had a miscarriage on 29/11/11. I was about 5/6 weeks. Dr said that some women wait until periods have returned before TTC again but there was no real medical reason to do so. Impatient old me got straight back on board. I've always been quite regular 28/29 days. No sign of my period yet - 28 days was Tuesday. I guess my cycle may take a while to get back to normal but I was hoping not given that I was only early days and the actual miscarriage was only 24 hours. What experience do other people have of getting back to normal?

I know I could and probably should do a test but the emotional rollercoaster of that is making me avoid it at the moment. With it being Christmas and all that I have mentally decided to wait until the New Year to do a test but now my impatience has kicked in, and there are two bottles of bubbles in the fridge with my name all over them!

I don't feel like I did when I was pregnant last time - but then given the outcome that's no bad thing. The whole time between finding out and miscarrying I felt terrible, was beginning to wonder whether this was going to be longest 9 months of my life!

Any words of wisdom for little old me!

I only have my OH to bounce this off as we didn't tell anyone, it's first time for both of us so Dr Google has been our friend, although he can be a bit doom and gloom!

Hi, any miscarriage is awful no matter how many weeks. I would do a test, so then you can feel more settled. Good luck and best wishes whatever the outcome. xx

Sorry to hear about your mc. I've been in a similar position - 4 times!! In the last 8 months or so I have had 4 positive pregnancy tests and yep, you've guesssed it, 4 mc's !! Sad
All very early ones - between 4-6 weeks.
Only for the first one did I go to the docs as obviously didnt know I was going to mc or how I would feel physically and emotoinally.
With mc's 2-4, after the positive tests, I just didnt get my hopes up at all. Which proved wise.

Saying that, my cycle has always gone back to 'normal' relatively quickly and we have ttc every month. I've already said that next time, even if I feel pregnant and my period is late, I'm not going to test until I've missed another period as cant go through the whole thing of being uber excited then coming crashing down.
Besides, from my experience you dont need to do a test, your body 'tells' you if you're pregnant. I had the common symptoms of weeing more, feeling tired and feeling sick.

Its sooooo tricky - so hard not to test when you think you are pregnant and then so hard not to get excited about it!!
Do what you think is best for you and what will make you feel better - I just wanted to share my experience.

Good Luck!! Smile

do the test, then if you're not at least you can have the bubbly Smile. don't mean to make light of this, I know how you feel as I've had two miscarriages since July. After the first, my period came back as normal, after 28 days. Similar after the second, period after roughly 4 Weeks but harder to work out this exactly this time. as everyone is different, only a test can give you the answer, there's no point putting it off really.

Good luck anyway, we'll be trying again fron this month on. hope it works out for you.

Thanks folks. I think I'll pop out and get a test from superdrug at lunch time, they seem to be highly rated.

Sorry to hear about others experiences - pants isn't it! I was pretty low the week after I miscarried, I felt like I had so many unanswered questions. I made myself another appointment at the Drs and went in with a list, I felt better after that. Could have done without the day of the miscarriage also being the day my step sisters baby arrived and the day my step brother announced his girlfriend was pregnant - lucky lucky me!

3isamagicnumber my Dr has told me to book in next time at 6 weeks but that if I miscarry before that I should still make a Drs appt (non urgent) so that it is on my records.

sassee am so sorry for your miscarriage they are so hard. Do the test but please do first wee in the morning when it is more concentrated. I hope it brings your hoped for BFP. If not feel a bit sad and then darn well enjoy the bubbles. Good luck for 2012
3isamagicnumber agree with sassee please see the dr if af comes and tell them you have had 4 mc you should be having investigations at this stage needs to be 6 weeks after pregnancy at least and it could alter the treatment you need and therefore a successful outcome heres giving you all baby dust.

Had m/c Sep period was normal straight after give or take a day

Well the test this morning said no but no sign of anything else happening! I guess I'll do another test in a week or two if still nothing. At least I can drink those bubbles guilt free!

I'm sorry about your mc and that it wasn't a bfp today, but hope you manage to enjoy those guilt free bubbles!
Just to share my experiences, I had an early mc with first pregnancy at about 6 weeks, after that it took over 3 months for periods to return. Few months later I fell pregnant again but another mc at 7 or 8 weeks. OV'd about 3 weeks after that and couple of weeks later BFP, so no period in between that mc and pregnancy. And BFP is now a 9 month old ginger monkey.
Good luck with it all!

Thanks for your advice - I have actually been back to the docs since the last MC and have now been put on the waiting list for further investigation at the specialist clinic. The doc did say though that it could just be bad luck and that in the grand scheme of things, we havent been trying that long (though it seems it to me!).

Oh well, enjoy the bubbly everyone - if you're allowed!! Smile

Sorry about the test sassee! I know how disappointing it all can be. I had a mmc in september at 9 weeks. Because they said the baby probably ha no been growing for at least two weeks I had an ERPC which meant I bled for about 7 days after but then my af did return approx 5 weeks after that although I was told it could be up to 8 weeks. I too was desperate to try and get pregnant straight away and kept reading and being told stories about women who had got pregnant straight after mc. No matter how much I tried not to get my hopes up I was very disappointed when af came.

My next af is due a week today and i am at that stage where all i Can think about is whether I can feel any symptoms and whether I am going to wait until af comes or take a test before. It is only month 3 for me after mc but I can totally understand how it can drive you crazy.

Why not try with ovulation sticks next month as at leas then you will know when you are ovulating even if your af cycle has not got back to normal. You can get some very reasonably priced ones off the internet now.

All the very best with it and I really hope the new year brings you all you are hoping for.
