how long on avergae does sperm live?

i know it can live upto 5/7 days, but wondering what the average life was?

once its in the female reproductive system?

about 2-3 days apparently. Although the vast majority of the poor little troops die in the first 20 minutes as most don't make it past the vagina!

Yes I also read 2/3 days. I think 5/7 days can happen but is rarer.

This is the reason why sex three times a week is recommended when ttc as you will always have some alive inside there waiting for the egg.

It depends on where you are in the menstrual cycle. At your most fertile time, your CM is more alkaline and specially designed to help keep the little chaps alive for longer. Other times during the cycle your fanjo is slightly more acidic and it can't survive as long.

I was advised sex every three days should be enough. I've interpreted that as every other day to be on the safe sold and actually the paperwork that came with the Clomid I just picked up also said every other day.
