planning on TTC in the New Year, what 'prep' should I be doing now?

....other than booking waxing appointments and buying particularly gorgeous underwear - obviously.

DH and I have decided we'd like a second DC, as DS was the result of ordering a second bottle of wine unplanned, I'm not sure if there's anything I should be doing now to increase the chances I'll get pregnant. Just before getting pregnant with DS I'd been on a diet, so had been eating a particularly healthily and doing a little more exercise than normal, would that going to help?

I suppose I should be taking folic acid and eating lots of iron rich foods again. (and not spending the first 6 weeks unaware I'm pg and therefore drinking lots of gin and eating lots of rare steak and blue cheese, and then stressing about it until my baby is born)

Folic acid is recommended for 3 months before you start trying. And healthy eating and some exercise can't do any harm. If you overweight some studies have shown that losing even a few pounds increases the chances of conception. G'luck!

thanks Eurochick - I'm (preen!) already back to ideal weight - that was my target before TTC, not sure if there's anything I should be changing in terms of say, more oily fish or more iron.

Don't want to lose anymore weight as I've read elsewhere that being underweight can make conception less likely - the more I read, the more unlikely my getting pregnant seems!
