Stopping the pill

Just wondering if anyone can help.

I stopped taking the mini pill 10 days ago and was told by the doctor that when I stop taking it I'd have a withdrawal bleed a couple days later and then some time in the future, all being well, periods would begin again.

Withdrawl bleed, to date, is non-existent!

Just wondering if anyone else a) never had a withdrawal bleed after stopping the pill or b) might know any reason why mine's not turned up yet?!

Thanks!

I had my first period 28 days after stopping the pill. I was on one that you take back to back and have no periods.
I then had another bleed 28 days after that.
Then 43 days! But that one felt like a real one. This cycle has also been the first one where I have had a positive OPK test.

Hi, I was on the mini pill and came off it the end of november to ttc. I had spotting around the end of december and didn't get a normal period until end of January. After waiting for that I then had 35 day cycles instead of my usual 28 day ones but on my first 28 day cycle I got pregnant, am now just over 15 weeks! Good luck!

I am about to come off the mini pill now and have to admit I'm not sure what to expect. I've been on this one for 2 years now, and for that time have not had a period (great on the one hand, but makes you worry on the other). My doctor has said it's not an issue, but I hope it doesn't cause too many problems with settling into a regular cycle or getting pregnant. Good luck with everything!

I stoppped taking Cerazette on July 11 and had a bit of spotting a couple of days after. Two weeks later had a withdrawal bleed - wasn't sure whether it was a period or not but now the proper AF has arrived I know it wasn't the real thing.

Finally had period arrive yesterday exactly seven weeks later!! That's 49 days in total - little more than I was hoping but not the year I was fearing.

So, from my experience it might just be that your withdrawal bleed is taking a while to come. Some people never have them and get preggers straight away (if they are TTC that is)

I agree loulou
I was on Cerazette and my first two periods were just like withdrawal bleeds. The next one, after 43 day, felt real. I was achy, pissed off and it just felt like the real thing.
The problem is that I have been on the pill for so long I have no idea what my normal cycle is!

I know, pip, it's a bitch isn't it? You spend decades petrified that you'll accidentally get pregnant if you so much as take your pill a few hours late; then just when you've reached the stage where you really want to get pregnant, you discover your fertility's pretty much a three day a month affair - not the 24 hour/7 days a week danger zone that sex ed classes/Just 17 implied!! Grrrr.

I never really even thought about my hormones having been so messed up this last 10 years - however, I'm sooo glad to have come off the pill - my energy levels, libido, skin and general wellbeing have really improved Grin. I have tried loads of pills over the years and none of em really suited me so I'm really loathe to go back on it ever again.

I know Lou. If school was to be believed then I would have got pregnant years ago by just seeing a naked man.
