it was on my GP notes but no one mentioned it at the time. It was my 3rd section & I knew I lost more blood than was normal but no transfusion and I only knew cos they checked my iron. My GP records state it as something serious ( I was only reading over the GPs shoulder though so don't have all the details- not sure why I didn't ask!)

We have considered dc4 but at the moment are undecided due to sPD still hanging around. If this can cause problems it may make the decision for us .

I think if you've had one the risk of having another in a subsequent delivery (esp with another section) is higher. And they can be very serious obviously- losing huge amounts of blood is life threatening- but I suspect that if yours had been very serious you would not be finding out about it well after the event. I had a massive one after my twins were delivered via c section and it was an emergency call for immediate transfusion and prepare to rush back to theatre situation as I started to lose consciousness- eek. However, I had no bleeding problems with my daughter 10 years later, though had a virginal birth with her. I think the only way to know for sure what happened to you and if it makes things more risky next time is to go back to the GP and ask her/him to talk it through with you. Good luck.:)
