Mucus plug appearing a few days after sex? Is it a sign?

Had unprotected ex aout 5 or 6 days ago...DH did not ejaculate but now says "Well some could have escaped" Hmm

My Periods are quite unreliable...I tend to go 5 or 6 weeks between them...but I think it's due in a week or two...or maybe now! (you can see just how reliable they are!)

Anyway...I have been a bit bloated last week which I took to mean my period was on the way...just noticed a glob of snotty looking stuff...(sorry) but it was....i remember seeing the same after conceiving DD2...so..if I did the deed about 5 or days ago...he aparently never came...is the timing right for the glob to be some of the mucus plug? I am feeling a bit scared..we have 2 DC...and I'm 38! More are always welcome but I am a bit nervous...do globs like this show up before periods ever?

I am ttc, I had that last week, really thick stretchy bit creamy Cm. currently sitting on my hands waiting to test! Will let you know what the outcome is. However some people do see this as part of their pre-af cycle.
NB 'withdrawal method' is not an effective method of contraception!! If you're not sure about having another maybe it's time to look.for an alternative?!

Don't want to disappoint you but I have had this a few times since ttc, never noticed it before and when I googled it everything I read said it was definitely a sign of pregnancy - I got really excited only to be even more devastated when AF arrived. Unfortunately I think it's one of those things that can just be normal, which you wouldn't even notice if you weren't ttc
