So... I guess I'm not going to be having a 2011 baby then.

Have just realised that there are fewer than 9 months left in 2011.

Oh well. Here's hoping for a 2012 baby instead.

Me neither hippos. Was a bit sad when I realised because we started trying in 2009 (albeit at Christmas).

I hear the 2012 version has some awesome upgrades. It'll be worth the wait I'm sure.

Yeah better to be born on an even year....even though I'm 81 baby...Hmm

Yeah. Sucks. Though a 4-year age gap might have its merits (been trying since Feb 09)

Anyway, focussing (optimistically) on the idea of inmminent conception success, and therefore a Jan/Feb due date, think how ace it would be not to be heavily pregnant in a hot summer. And how romantic it would be to bring home a baby in snow, with the world all pure and new.

OH yes - realised that on m last period. And like you Bex started trying Nov 2009. Its sucks. BIG time.

I hadn't realised a 2011 baby was not a possibility anymore. Bit sad but I like hippos idea of a 2012 coming with all new upgrades!

Ah Griselda you're such an optimist! Spring babies tend be healthier too via they're aren't exposed to so many germs when they're tiny. See? All kinds of reasons to be positive!

Who wants a boring old 2011 baby anyway?

(suppressed howl of anguish)

2012 has a nice ring to it anyway... good luck to all of us for our lovely 2012 babies.

I would like an autumn winter pregnancy. I think I would be quite stylish.

Report
Bexamundo · 20/04/2011 21:38

Only disadvantages I see are maternity clothes. I'm the same size as Dsis and she had a summer baby, was hoping to borrow her stuff!

NinjaChipmunk · 20/04/2011 21:50

ds was an oct baby and i have to say commuting through central london in summer was horrible. I would like to be cool and stylish, not hot, fat and sweaty! although i no longer work in central london. And i'm not yet pg after a year of trying. ah well!

Report
PatientGriselda · 20/04/2011 21:56

Exactly. We can swan around looking cool and chic. None of that sweaty fatness for US. And think of all the delicious opportunities for lying elegantly on sofas all day in a stylish cushion and blanket melange.

NinjaChipmunk · 20/04/2011 22:00

I'm liking your way of thinking!
That said should I have a summer baby then maybe I should float around with large sunglasses, fanning myself wearing loose, cooling yet suitably flattering clothes Grin

Report
PatientGriselda · 20/04/2011 22:08

Hmm, maybe we need an Indian summer, so as to be able to float around in loose-fitting yet fabulous garb just up until the point when we are too pregnant to enjoy it any more, at which point it can switch to cosy autumnal wraps.

AND we might be on mat leave around Christmas!

And we'll pay less out in childcare before our children start school.

LoveInAColdClimate · 21/04/2011 06:28

Plus, assuming January/February due date, we can hibernate in the cosy house with our tiny new babies and then by spring they will be more aware/we will be more used to being mothers for lovely spring trips to the park and days in the garden.

Hehe pregnant through winter - would probably be the first time in my life that I didn't feel cold :p
Mind you, if I am pregnant on this cycle it puts my due date at 2nd January - I could just foresee the little one coming out on 27th December just because not only was my OH born that day but also his twin sisters decided to come out then as well.
