Self gratifying 4yo

I am becoming increasingly concerned over the amount of time my 4yo boy spends dong this. he lays on the floor for long periods crossing his legs and moving them up and down. i have been told by his consultant that this is self gratification. should i stop him doing it?

Do you mean he's masturbating?

If you there are several threads already about this and I think the general advice is not to stop him or make him feel bad but distract him with something else if you're out of have visitors.

I'll have a look and see if I can find any - I suspect they were in parenting/behaviour and development because it is normal. Not a child health issue IYSWIM.

When I searched for "masturbation" in parenting and behaviour/development topics I got 105 threads.

I can't cut and paste a link to the search results (it doesn't work) but you could run the same search and choose what is most relevent to you. Or if you prefer you could start a new thread and I'd suggest in behaviour/development.
