He has a terrible cough. She didn't know about the warnings and we still had a bottle on the shelf. Should we be worried?

Okay I meant Benylin - and I am really freaking out - do I need to stay by him all night? Do we need to go to A&E??

Im sure he will be fine, those cough medicines were only withdrawn because of the dangers of giving too much, so 2.5ml is fine. Dont worry, but phone NHS direct for reassurance

is it children's Benylin? If so. what are you worried about?

If it is adult's Benylin, I wouldn't worry too much - 2.5 mls is a very little amount

Yes, it was children's - calming down now. Sorry, it was just such a shock because I didn't even know we still had it!

He seems fine - completely fast asleep! Thanks everyone.
